At Wembley Stadium, The Sidemen’s Charity Match took place where YouTube Allstars beat Sidemen FC in a tense penalty shootout.
The unmissable charity football match saw The Sidemen take over the biggest stadium in the UK to raise money for Bright Side, BBC Children in Need and M7 Education. The Sidemen’s Miniminter was announced as team captain for Sidemen FC, with IShowSpeed announced as captain for the YouTube Allstars.
Joe Weller scored the first goal of the game for Sidemen FC followed by goals from ChrisMD, Theo Baker, Tobjizzle and Miniminter.
Sidemen FC and YouTube Allstars were drawing 4-4 going into half time before the whistle was blown and surprise half time performances came from rap legend AJ Tracey and The Sidemen’s very own KSI who took a break from the game to perform his track ‘Thick Of It’.
Going into the second half, Max Fosh received a yellow card before quickly taking out a paper shredder and shredding it in front of the referee to the crowd’s cheer. With Logan Paul scoring the first goal of the second half, further goals came from Speed, Zerkaa, Angry Ginge, Chunkz, Manny, Behzinga, Kai Cenat, George Clarkey and Theo Baker.
As the final whistle was blown, Sidemen FC and YouTube Allstars were drawing 9-9, taking the game to penalties. Following a tense penalty shootout, a final goal from Speed took the YouTube Allstars to victory.
With 90,000 people watching in the sell-out Stadium, it has now been confirmed that over 8million people watched the livestream from around the world. After the game, The Sidemen announced that over £4million was raised for charity, almost doubling the total from the previous charity match.
The seven members of The Sidemen are made up of Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji (KSI), Simon Minter (Miniminter), Joshua Bradley (Zerkaa), Tobit ‘Tobi’ Brown (TBJZL), Ethan Payne (Behzinga), Vikram Singh Barn (Vikkstar123), and Harry Lewis (W2S). They went from making gaming content in their bedrooms to running a multi-million pound internet empire. They have over 100 million subscribers between them, 22 million subscribers on their main YouTube channel and 6 billion views globally.
