STUBBING YOUR TOE AND DELAYED TRAINS PUSH BRITS TO THE BRINK

The complexities of day-to-day life can often creep-up on people, with a staggering 70% of Brits revealing they need to take a breather when small moments of stress pile-on to an already busy day, according to research from TimeOut.

Despite feeling the need for a daily dose of escapism, only 34% manage to get a moment a day to themselves to destress, with an additional 61% wishing there were more opportunities for them to take a ‘time out’.

“The world is a bit crazy right now, and it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. There are plenty of frustrations that we just can’t control, so we think it’s time to focus on what we can. We hope the commuters lucky enough to spot our Time to Call TimeOut station manage to enjoy a bit of a breather from the daily grind, and we can help remind people it’s okay to take those emergency moments for themselves – we all need it!”

Diana Mamulian, Brand Manager for Cadbury TimeOut

As part of the poll of 2,000 UK adults from Cadbury TimeOut, 38% point to work as the main culprit of their daily stresses, with another 26% citing traffic jams, or painful mishaps like stubbing their toe (11%). Tuesdays topped the poll as the toughest day of the week, with 1 in 6 people agreeing (16%) these frustrating moments peak on Tuesday mornings, whilst Friday is the day Brits embrace most, as it is considered near-enough the weekend (22%).

However, it is also revealed that taking just a up to 20 minutes can create a massive improvement in mood, with respondents stating going for a walk (35%), sitting down for a sweet snack (28%), enjoying a cup of tea (28%), and listening to their favourite music (33%) are the most effective ways to decompress.

To support flustered Brits, Cadbury TimeOut has launched its Time to Call TimeOut campaign, empowering people to take a beat when things get a bit heavy, and offering them a moment of much needed levity during challenging moments.

To put this into practice, Cadbury TimeOut surprised London commuters at Victoria station with a Time to Call TimeOut van last week, offering an escape from their morning rush and offering them a Cadbury TimeOut bar to enjoy, along with a cup of tea. Today, they are returning to Euston station to offer levity to thousands more stressed commuters.
