Pioneer DJ have announced an upcoming Industry Mixer event from its Start From Scratch programme (SFS) – in partnership with Westside Radio, Glasgow Underground and On The Rise DJ Academy at BoxPark Wembley.
Taking place on 15th of July, participants will immerse themselves in a day filled with inspiring talks, insightful demos, and captivating performances by the Start From Scratch alumni. From 11:30 to 18:30, guests will have an exclusive opportunity to engage with industry experts and gain valuable knowledge across a range of compelling topics, which include: PR and Record Labels within the Music Industry, Introduction to Radio DJing, and Tips & Tricks for Club Mixing.
Damien Platt from Glasgow Underground and SFS alumni will deliver a dynamic one-hour masterclass where aspiring DJs will delve into the essential strategies and insider secrets to elevate their careers beyond the decks. From crafting captivating tracks to unleashing them upon the global stage, participants will gain comprehensive knowledge on releasing and marketing their music effectively. Covering radio play, streaming services and DJ stores, DJ promotion, advertising, and social media, this masterclass will equip DJs with the tools to amplify their reach and ensure their music extends to audiences worldwide.
Shayna Marie from Westside Radio & Capital Xtra will cover the basics of radio DJing and all it entails followed by an epic DJ set in a one-hour workshop. Attendees will not only learn practical skills but Shayna will lead an industry-based discussion on how she’s got to where she is today and how to kickstart a career. This is an invaluable opportunity to learn from one the best so come prepared with questions!
Terry Ryan, owner of On The Rise DJ Academy, will teach a practical workshop that covers a few of the tips and tricks you will need for club mixing, including using loops correctly, understanding advanced phrasing and the best application of FX and combo FX. These tried and tested techniques have been used by pro DJs for generations and are the next level for DJs wanting to up their game.
