Starbucks Rolls Into Summer with London and Manchester Rink Pop Ups

Starbucks will be dialling up summer with a limited-time roller rink at London’s Southbank Centre and Manchester’s Cathedral Gardens, complete with DJs, drinks and retro flair. From 11th to 13th July in London and 1st to 3rd August in Manchester, visitors can book a 60-minute slot at the Starbucks Roller Rink, complete with 45 minutes of skating and a line-up of summer beverages to cool down with.

Set outdoors in the heart of the cities, the experiences will feature a full schedule of music and activities alongside the rinks. Guests can skate to live DJ sets from Mercedes Benson, DJ R-LO, and Raymond, while a photo booth will be able to capture summertime memories for lucky sippers. A claw machine exclusively for Starbucks Rewards Members will be available to play, with prizes including limited-edition summer merchandise designed by emerging vintage comic-inspired artist Gavin Connell.

Refreshments will come in the shape of Starbucks’ new seasonal favourites, including the Melon Pearl Refresha, a chilled melon-based drink poured over ice, and finished with flavour-filled melon pearls. For those after an icy classic with a twist, the Caramel Frappuccino and Caramel Cream Frappuccino blended beverages will also be making their return, each crafted with Starbucks’ signature caramel syrup, milk and ice, and finished with whipped cream and drizzle.

Each ticketed session lasts 60 minutes, with 45 minutes of skate time and access to all other event entertainment. Skate sizes from UK 3 to 13 and all safety gear are included in the experience. Tickets are capped at four per booking, and guests must sign a digital waiver ahead of their session. Lockers will be available to store belongings during skate sessions, and event wardens will also be on hand to support guests new to the rink.

Tickets require a £5 deposit per person, fully refunded on check-in, and are open to guests aged 16 and above (under 16s are welcome to attend the event itself but not partake in the skating). Limited walk-in slots will be available daily.

The Starbucks Roller Rink runs at Builder’s Yard, Southbank Centre, SE1 8XX from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th July, and at Manchester’s Cathedral Gardens from 1st to 3rd August. You can book your space right here.
