The customer-owned, subscription-based brewery, Standard Brew Co, is offering subscriptions for IPA lovers, those interested in the brewery business, and anyone looking for the perfect gift for the beer-lover in their life. Standard Brew Co is awarding shares to anyone who completes a year-long subscription, every year: all you have to do is drink the beer! They’ll handle the rest.
Standard Brew Co specializes in showcasing IPAs for the versatile and delicious beer style that it is. Each month they will be brewing a different small batch IPA, making everything from TIPAs (AKA triple-hopped brews), SIPAs (AKA session beers), and everything in between. For £20 per month, you will receive a 6-pack of IPA straight from the brewery; plus, for a limited time, the first month of your subscription is free! Standard Brew Co will be brewing a plethora of IPAs throughout the year, so you can guarantee no two brews will be the same. About the company
Standard Brew Co was founded by IPA lover Milo Oddi, previously of Beer + Burger Store, The Mall Tavern & The Stag with which he has clocked up over 10 years in the hospitality and beer industry. He started Standard Brew Co in his kitchen in North West London, making IPAs for his flatmates and friends at their legendary garden parties. Although Milo has since expanded production, the recipes still have the essence of what Standard Brew Co loves: hoppy, fun IPAs.
Milo says, “It has always been about sharing. Whether that be sharing the beer at garden parties, taking it to friends’ dinners or even gifting it as presents. That’s why I wanted to make Standard Brew Co UK’s first customer-owned IPA-specialist brewery. What better way to share the experience than to award shares and a new IPA to discover every month.”
Samples to Expect
The latest in the Standard Brew Co monthly offering is IPA #005, a New Zealand IPA with a sturdy 7% ABV, it’s an ode to Milo’s time in New Zealand. Milo says, “I spent a year living in Nelson and working in Motueka. There was tonnes of craft breweries using locally sourced hops. Not only does using Nelson Sauvin & Motueka hops gives me a huge sense nostalgia but it also brings a beautiful earthy & sweet flavour profile with a balanced citrus edge.”
February ’22’s offering will be IPA #006, the first West Coast IPA in the Standard Brew Co journey; coming in at 5.8% ABV, the smooth malt builds with bitter Magnum hops, spicy Chinook hops & a piney hit from the Simcoe Cryo hops. These flavours combine to form a bittersweet symphony on the initial taste followed by classic pine and citrus aromas.
