SEE FLOWERS BLOOM IN CHAPTER THREE OF THE TAKASHI MURAKAMI X CASETIFY COLLABORATION

A motif synonymous with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, FLOWERS come into full bloom in the third chapter of the TAKASHI MURAKAMI x CASETiFY collaboration. Revealed today, the FLOWERS BLOOM collection is a celebration of the motif’s status as a cultural icon, now in a new range of product offerings and tech accessories. 

From FLOWERS BLOOM, CASETiFY introduces a whole new selection of designs on the Travel luggage and Ripple phone case and more, while highlighting ultra-limited products such as the rainbow camera ring with multi-colored lettering, FLOWERS 18K GOLD phone case and FLOWERS suitcase.

FLOWERS, one of Murakami’s most recognizable motifs, draws inspiration from his studies of Nihonga (Japanese painting), while also giving the nod to the classical theme of setsugetsuka (snow, moon, flowers). By interpreting these traditional forms and connecting them to contemporary art, Murakami developed his own iteration of FLOWERS, which embodies his concept of ‘Superflat.’ The use of gold in particular pays homage to the refined technique of gold foil in traditional Japanese art, a theme Murakami has often referenced to bridge historical aesthetics with contemporary culture.

Since its creation, Murakami’s FLOWERS have expanded the public’s access to and appreciation of contemporary art, capturing the hearts of many with its infectious smile. With the launch of this third chapter, the collaboration comes together as a tribute to Murakami’s enduring legacy and his influence on pop culture and the contemporary art world. From his beginnings with MR. DOB, to his growth as an artist with the KAIKAI and KIKI collective, to the blossoming of the world-renowned FLOWERS, the TAKASHI MURAKAMI x CASETiFY collaboration is a culmination of Murakami’s unique world view, presented to a wider audience. A study in Murakami’s use of icons, TAKASHI MURAKAMI x CASETiFY is the artist’s newest exploration in creating new meaning with art through forms of collaboration and cultural synergies.

Blossoming into a full rainbow of colors, the FLOWERS motif in the FLOWERS BLOOM collection appears on all of the Travel luggage line. Varying floral compositions find their way on a range of accessories, from wireless chargers and charms, to AirPods cases and danglers taking on Murakami’s FLOWERIAN form. A reiteration of the pink colorway available in the KAIKAI and KIKI collection will also be re-introduced, while danglers will be made available in 5 colorways. Continuing from CASETiFY’s exploration of three-dimensional products beginning with MR. DOB and KAIKAI and KIKI, the CASETiFY ripple is reimagined in a new artistic form for the FLOWERS RIPPLE PHONE CASE and CARRY-ON SUITCASE.

The FLOWERS RIPPLE PHONE CASE will be made available through a special blind box mechanism, a playful approach that builds on the collaboration’s foundation. Blurring the line between fine art and commercial product, the blind boxes invite fans to collect their favorite designs. Collectors may purchase individual blind boxes or acquire a set of four, increasing their chance to receive the RAINBOW case as a coveted rare variant, and the shimmering FLOWERS 18K GOLD phone case as an ultra-rare version. This unique format adds a layer of surprise and collectibility, allowing enthusiasts to engage with Murakami’s world and his iconic FLOWERS motif in an entirely new way.

An exclusive pop-up at the CASETiFY Dosan Flagship will celebrate the third chapter of this iconic collaboration. Audiences will also be invited to co-create via the Signature Customization Program by CASETiFY, where individuals will be able to personalize their own products with even more customizable options.
