SAUCONY TRANSFORMS HOXTON PUB INTO A CREATIVE HUB FOR LONDON’S RUNNING COMMUNITY!

Saucony has transformed Howl at the Moon in Hoxton into the Saucony Social Pub, bringing together running, art and East London community ahead of the first-ever Run Shoreditch Half Marathon.

Running culture is about much more than chasing personal bests. For many runners, it is the people met along the way, the crews formed through early-morning miles and the communities that grow around a shared love of movement.

That idea is at the heart of Saucony’s latest London activation, which has seen the running brand take over one of Hoxton’s best-known pubs ahead of the inaugural Saucony Run Shoreditch Half Marathon.

Located at Howl at the Moon, the Saucony Social Pub has been transformed into a celebration of East London’s running community, combining Saucony’s “Run As One” philosophy with a colourful new public artwork created by East London artist GREYGREY.

Saucony Brings ‘Run As One’ to Hoxton

The temporary takeover forms part of Saucony’s wider Run Shoreditch activity and has been designed to celebrate runners, running crews, supporters and the wider community surrounding the sport.

Rather than focusing solely on performance, the space reflects the social side of running – the friendships, shared experiences and connections that can develop through simply getting out and moving together.

Saucony collaborated with GREYGREY, an East London artist recognised for his playful and uplifting approach to public art, to give the pub a completely new look.

The resulting installation uses bold murals, window takeovers and site-specific artwork to transform the venue into a colourful visual representation of East London’s running culture.

The artwork also reflects the wider message behind Saucony’s Run As One campaign, exploring themes of love, community, human connection and belonging.

A New Take on the Saucony River Logo

One of the most distinctive elements of the installation is GREYGREY’s recurring multi-eyed character motif.

The character has been brought together with elements of Saucony’s recognisable river logo, creating a visual representation of different people, perspectives and stories coming together through movement.

Rather than simply covering the pub in traditional branding, the artwork has been designed to respond to Howl at the Moon, the surrounding neighbourhood and the people who pass through it.

The result is intended to feel less like a conventional branded pop-up and more like a temporary piece of East London culture – turning an existing community space into a celebration of creativity, movement and togetherness.

When Can You Visit the Saucony Social Pub?

The Saucony Social Pub will remain open to the public during Howl at the Moon’s usual opening hours throughout the takeover.

There is one exception: Sunday 20 September, when the venue will be used for a private post-race event following the Saucony Run Shoreditch Half Marathon.

That means visitors have the opportunity to experience GREYGREY’s artwork and the Saucony takeover before and around race weekend.

Saucony Run Shoreditch Half Marathon Comes to East London

The pub takeover arrives just days before the first-ever Saucony Run Shoreditch Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday 20 September 2026.

More than 12,000 runners are expected to take part as the event evolves from last year’s 10K into a fully closed-road half marathon.

The 13.1-mile route will begin and end at Shoreditch Park, taking runners through East London with music, cheer zones and community activities helping to create an atmosphere around the race.

The move to a half marathon marks a significant expansion for the Run Shoreditch event, while the Saucony Social Pub provides a more creative and social extension of the weekend beyond the race itself.

For Saucony, both activations underline the idea that running isn’t simply about the distance on the clock. It is also about the people running alongside you and the communities that form around the sport.
