Sam‘s Riverside – the riverside brasserie overlooking the Hammersmith Bridge – has announced the reopening of its much-loved terrace, this year in partnership with award-winning Stellenbosch winery, Journey’s End, to offer guests six of their prestigious wines to enjoy.
The summer terrace, open daily and situated overlooking the Thames, is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing lunch or evening supper with an al fresco glass of South African wine. The terrace is adorned with hand-embroidered cashmere blankets, crafted in South Africa, offering a touch of warmth and comfort for guests when the London weather doesn’t quite match the sunny skies of the Cape.
Not sure which wine to go for? Try the Wild Child Grenache Rosé for a refreshing rosé with notes of strawberries, citrus and a delicate floral finish that is perfect for a sunny day, or the V1 Chardonnay that offers fresh citrus fruit and orange blossom notes, with subtle creamy notices that provide layered complexity. If red is what you fancy, go for the V4 Cabernet Sauvignon for a rich and structured wine with a core of blackcurrants, plum and a hint of spice, or indulge in the rich Cape Doctor Bordeaux Blend that carries cassis, hints of cinnamon spice and dark chocolate garnered from generous oak ageing.
Of course, food will be on offer too from Sam‘s Riverside, with sun seekers being able to order the full Sam‘s Riverside menu to enjoy al fresco. Whether that’s a plate of Sam‘s famous oysters, some summery croquettes or rich parmesan churros, the summer menu perfectly complements the array of wines from Journey’s End.
