Rooftop Bar PocketSquare Unveils Doppelgärden Summer Spritz Terrace

A skyline terrace, a summer spritz, and a London-made aperitivo with attitude – PocketSquare’s new Doppelgärden Summer Spritz Terrace has arrived for the season. Created in partnership with Doghouse Distillery, the rooftop launch brings a seasonal takeover of the Whitechapel bar, complete with lush greenery, sweeping skyline views, and a cocktail menu built to pair perfectly with the long, sunlit evenings set to dominate London over the coming months.

Sitting atop the Hyatt Place London City East, PocketSquare’s terrace is already known as an East London hotspot, delivering views from the towers of Canary Wharf to The Gherkin and beyond. The new Doppelgärden Spritz Terrace that has taken over the venue offers a true city drinking experience in partnership with Doghouse Distillery, the Battersea-based makers of Doppelgänger Aperitivo. The distillery is one of the only grain-to-bottle operations in the city, and its sharp, citrus-led aperitivo brings a confident note of London character to this seasonal collaboration.

At the heart of the new menu is the London Spritz, a sun-ready blend of Doppelgänger Aperitivo, grapefruit and soda with a bittersweet profile of hibiscus, citrus and spice. It is joined by a collection of fruit-forward cocktails including the Banana Collins, with cask-aged moonshine, coconut water and lime, and the Tropical Sour, where pineapple and agave are complemented by a float of port. The popular Cherry Negroni plays on the classic with cherry-infused gin, while the Baller Club keeps things sharp with raspberry and award-winning Baller Vodka.

To soak up the summer cocktail lineup is a tasty menu of small plates and snacks, serving up bites from Fritto Misto and Polpette to crisp golden Arancinette.

PocketSquare Skyline Bar & Terrace sits on the ninth floor of Hyatt Place London City East, the 280-room hotel that brings panoramic views, street art flair and skyline-facing rooms to Whitechapel. The rooftop space itself offers a rare mix of creative cocktails all year around, along with one of the best vantage points in East London. As part of the Hyatt Place family, the hotel combines modern design with thoughtful touches and a prime location for exploring the city.

The Doppelgärden Summer Spritz Terrace is now open at PocketSquare, on the ninth floor of Hyatt Place London City East, 45 Whitechapel Road, E1 1DU. Find out more and book here.
