Refresh your home for Spring with trending colours

As the long, dark winter days fade from memory, it’s time to embrace a new season and welcome spring. Warmer days also signal the perfect opportunity for an interior refresh. From colour updates to upcycling, try these different ways to bring a sense of renewal to your home this spring. We spoke with Sara D’Souza, Content Strategist & Creator at Frenchic Paint to get some top tips on how to upgrade your home forSpring with just a can of paint!

Paint with soothing Earthy pastels

When it comes to a colour update in your home, think pastels, but not the saccharine sort. Yes, there are pinks, but they’ve got earthy tones that bring a richness to a room, and a deep sense of calm. Think the soft, muted Dusky Blush, the warm and grounding hue of Clay Pot, or Eggnog, the cheeriest timeless yellow. Adding a fresh coat of paint can really make your home come to life for the new season.

Upcycle a piece of furniture

If a pastel feels too bold on a wall, try an upcycle. Facebook Marketplace, eBay, or your local charity shops are the perfect places to start when looking for a second-hand piece of furniture to give a new lease of life. Upcycling is a great way to experiment with colour, be it a bedside table, a chest of drawers, or an old chair. Frenchic’s versatile paints mean you can paint most wood and laminate types of furniture.

Revamp your kitchen cupboards

Painting your kitchen cupboards is a great option for giving your kitchen a complete makeover without the hefty price tag. Frenchic’s easy-to-use, self-priming chalk paint is perfect for your cabinetry. Once you’ve cleaned and lightly sanded, it’s time for the paint application. One of our favourite colour combinations for spring is dark olive green, like Constance Moss on your cupboards and Dusky Blush on the kitchen walls.

Colour drench your radiators

Frenchic expert Abi Hugo, explains how “radiators are often overlooked when decorating, but a fresh coat of paint is a simple yet effective way to elevate and refine your interiors. Colour drenching your radiators in the same shade as the walls can help them better blend into the space without looking awkward and clunky.” Or to bring in colour, Abi suggests that you “paint your radiators in a bold shade for a statement look.”

Update your front door

Increase your kerb appeal with a spring refresh in the form of a front door makeover. Spring and the warmer months (as long as it’s dry) are the perfect time to start al fresco painting. On the colour front, a timeless classic like Wise Old Sage will never go out of style, while a vintage green like Victory Lane will make your home stand out.
