Popeyes UK has announced that it is adding a popular item to its menu, with the launch of its Double Stack Sandwich.
The release of the new menu item comes after Popeyes noticed that since launching in the UK, nearly 500 die-hard fans order a second chicken breast when ordering the iconic Chicken Sandwich each week.
With this fan-favourite hack now gaining a cult-following across the UK, and after more than two years of Popeyes® fans making this their go-to custom order, people no longer have to double up on the Shatter Crunch themselves.
Those looking to enjoy the new mouth-watering Popeyes sandwich can expect TWO iconic Shatter Crunchin’ chicken breasts – prepared as always, using fresh chicken and marinated for 12 hours in a signature blend of Louisiana herbs and spices. The succulent chicken breasts are then hand-breaded and battered to create the iconic crunchy coating Popeyes® customers know and love. They’re then stacked inside a soft brioche bun, with crunchy fresh pickles.
Fans can choose to play it cool with the Classic Double Stack Sandwich which includes Popeyes® house-developed original mayo layered on the roof of a warm brioche bun. Meanwhile, those feeling a little more adventurous can choose to dial up the heat with the Spicy Double Stack Sandwich, levelling up their order with a slathering of fan-favourite spicy mayo. For those who can’t get enough chicken in their life, the Double Stack is a must try!
Dave Hoskins, Head of Food at Popeyes, said:
“Team Popeyes is excited to announce the arrival of the new Double Stack Sandwich to our UK menu. Our customers love our chicken, and sometimes they want even more of it when ordering our legendary Chicken Sandwich. We’ve seen the hack, we’ve listened to our fans and we’re pleased to be making the Double Stack official – so more people can easily opt for some extra Shatter Crunch in their Sandwich.”
The mouthwatering Double Stack Sandwiches will be available at all Popeyes UK restaurants and drive-thrus nationwide and via delivery from Tuesday 16th April, starting at £7.99 in-store.
