Accommodating for endless dietary requirements (36%), invitation politics (34%), spiralling costs (36%) and competing with other parents to host the best party (18%)… These are just some of the reasons why over three quarters (77%) of parents in the UK agree that planning a children’s birthday party is one of the most stressful tasks you can undertake as a parent, new research by PizzaExpress has found.
The survey of 1,500 parents, commissioned by PizzaExpress to celebrate its Kids Pizza Making Parties, hilariously reveals the highs and woes of throwing a birthday party for children, with almost three quarters (74%) admit to finding the task more stressful than their day job.
From practical elements like the clean-up (47%) and shopping for party bags (21%), to no shows (36%) and having to deal with tantrums (32%), these are just some of the elements that parents find the least enjoyable about hosting a kids’ party, with nearly 8 in 10 (78%) parents wishing they could simply hand the reins over to someone else.
With its Kids Pizza Making Party offering, PizzaExpress promises to take the stress out of children’s parties once and for all, covering everything from the invites and entertainment, to the food and dietary requirements, and even the birthday cake and post-party clean up (though perhaps not the tantrums!).
In celebration, PizzaExpress has teamed up with two of the nation’s most unfiltered parents, James and Clair Buckley, for a hilarious, relatable new video, which explores the woes and confessions of children’s party planning amongst seasoned parents, featuring hilarious tales of unfortune and mishaps.
Jo Vaughton, Marketing Director at PizzaExpress, said: “Planning for children’s parties is no party! It’s never quite as plain sailing as you expect it to be. We get it, that’s why at PizzaExpress we’re coming to the aid of parents, with our Kids’ Pizza Making Parties – creating memorable dining experiences for life’s most important moments, whilst allowing parents to put their feet up and enjoy the celebrations.”
Beyond the stress, however, almost half (40%) of parents agreed that planning children’s parties gives them a sense of achievement and over half (62%) love seeing the joy on their child’s face.
PizzaExpress encourages kids to have fun making a mess at its pizza-making parties for kids, wherein children are invited to don mini pizzaiolo hats and get stuck into fresh ingredients in a delightfully messy pizza-making masterclass – with everything from bottomless squash throughout, party games to keep the energy high and delicious gelato to finish – it’s the ultimate one-stop-shop for all parents’ children’s party planning worries.
