Philips OneBlade Grows Unique Veggie Patch with Body Hair

Philips isn’t a brand that is afraid of being one-of-a-kind – and their latest spectacle is almost definitely a world-first. Inspired by the little-known fact that body hair is nutrient-rich and acts as an amazing fertiliser, the cheeky provocateur of the male grooming sector is launching a ‘Hairy Harvest’, a vegetable patch in London Fields Park in Hackney from Fri 24th to Sat 25th May.

While the annual Flower Show in Chelsea may be soaking up the attention of green-fingered gardening enthusiasts, Philips is going against the grain to shine the light on an alternative, surprising, and more cost-effective way to grow fruit and vegetables.

The brand will be hosting a free two-day pop-up in London’s Hackney featuring four sections: a stubble patch, a pecs patch, a back garden, and even a pube patch showcasing rows of produce such as tomatoes, cabbage and potatoes, to depict how abundantly fruitful growing your own fruit and veg can be.

Guests can immerse themselves in a variety of activities during their visit, including getting facial hair trimmed, edged, or shaved for free by a professional barber (with their hair to take away to grow their own produce at home), and taking away goodies such as gardening seeds, free products, and discounts to give people that helping hand in growing their own ‘Hairy Harvest’ at home.

The free pop-up will take place on Friday 24th to Saturday 25th May between 09:00 and 17:00, at London Fields, East Side Hackney, London E8 3EU.
