Ex-professional footballer Marvin Morgan announces a partnership with PUMA and Xbox to launch the new season with Fresh Ego FC. Fresh Ego FC is the official football team of Marvin’s streetwear brand, Fresh Ego Kid, as worn by Raheem Sterling, Kieran Trippier, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and UK music artist Giggs.
PUMA, one of the leading names in sporting apparel & outfitter of some of the biggest sports teams around the world will be the official kit partner, providing equipment, merchandise as well as ongoing local support. Xbox, a leading name in next-generation gaming, will be the official shirt sponsor for the team via the “Score More With Xbox” campaign, and will provide social media support to help amplify Fresh Ego Kid FC’s content.
Fresh Ego FC aims to raise awareness surrounding mental health, racism and racism in football by bringing together top talent from sport, fashion and music. The launch will also see support from football’s equality and inclusion charity Kick It Out.
By engaging local communities through interviews and filmed content as well as partnerships with schools, Fresh Ego Kid FC will be teaching and inspiring young people to get into sports as well as helping create a fairer playing field.
Proceeds from crowd attendance, auctioned signed football shirts and more will help to raise money for Kick It Out as well as other grassroots charities.
Marvin Morgan says, “Racism is a social issue so vast that it needs a targeted approach aimed squarely at young people in local communities around the country. By educating young people and engaging in constructive conversation about racism and bias we have a chance to change the narrative for future generations. With people around the world more motivated than ever, there has never been a better time to tackle this issue however uncomfortable the discussion can be.
“Football is the perfect medium through which to engage young people and communities – uniting millions regardless of age, gender, race or cultural background. The sport is an ongoing source of entertainment and inspiration, producing champions whose voices are heard throughout society and government. At Fresh Ego FC we have a strong love of the game, with team members with lived experience of racism and mental health. This makes us perfectly positioned to connect with the people we aim to reach.”
Billy Gentry, Teamsports Marketing Manager at PUMA UKI said, “Everyone at Puma is excited about partnering with FRESH EGO KID FC, working closely with Marvin I can see how much he values his community, and pushing awareness of racism and mental health issues through football is wholly inspiring. Let’s hope for a great first season on and off the pitch”
Upcoming Fresh Ego Kid FC content aimed at engaging local communities will feature the likes of Fulham player Michael Hector and ex footballer Marvin Sordell; the first episode will be live on the Fresh Ego Kid YouTube channel. Tune in here to watch.
