To celebrate National Lobster Day, 40 Dean Street is launching the UK’s most luxury lasagne, and yes, it really is only £40 per person and as over the top as it sounds.
Soho has long been a playground for the bold and the indulgent, and 40 Dean Street has always been at the heart of it. Known for its classic Italian plates and bustling neighbourhood energy, the restaurant is stepping into the spotlight with a dish designed to grab headlines and tempt London’s most adventurous diners.
Created by executive chef and owner, Nima Safaei, this extraordinary dish is a limited-time offer and only available for ONE WEEK.
Before you gasp into your gnocchi – this isn’t just any lasagne. Surrender to an indulgence unlike any other with this luscious Lobster Bisque Lasagne featuring delicate layers of hand-rolled pasta enveloping succulent lobster pieces, bathed in a velvety lobster bisque béchamel finished with fresh shavings of black truffle.
Each portion includes generous chunks of lobster claw meat, widely considered the most succulent part of the shellfish, bringing a sweetness that cuts through the richness of the sauce. The lasagne is layered and baked slowly to allow the flavours to deepen, while the fresh truffle adds an earthy intensity that takes the dish firmly into luxury territory. It is indulgence on a grand scale, created to be shared but certainly Instagrammed first.
Executive Chef and Owner, Nima Safaei said:
“Lasagne is the ultimate comfort food but I wanted to flip expectations and create a version that truly celebrates indulgence. This is lasagne as you’ve never seen it before – rich, dramatic and designed to impress. Food should surprise you, it should stop conversations mid-flow, and that’s exactly what this dish is about.”
This is lasagne – but not as your nonna knows it. Soho has always had a flair for the dramatic, but this might be its boldest pasta moment yet.
40 Dean Street has been a Soho staple for more than two decades, attracting locals, theatre-goers and celebrities alike. This special lasagne continues the restaurant’s tradition of serving authentic Italian dishes with a twist, proving that even the most traditional plates can be reinvented for the modern palate. With just one week to try it, diners can expect a lively atmosphere, buzzing tables and a dish that feels as much like theatre as dinner.
