MCM Comic Con has officially kicked off its 2026 announcements—and it’s a major one. ReedPop have confirmed that internationally acclaimed fantasy author Brandon Sanderson will be the first headline guest for MCM London Comic Con, taking place 22–24 May 2026.
Following a record-breaking 2025 season, including the biggest-ever MCM Birmingham Comic Con at the NEC, ReedPop is gearing up for an even bigger year ahead. Sanderson’s announcement sets an exciting tone for what fans can expect across all 2026 shows.
A Titan of Modern Fantasy
Brandon Sanderson is celebrated worldwide for his expansive Cosmere universe, home to bestselling series including The Stormlight Archive, Mistborn, and Tress of the Emerald Sea. His new short fiction collection, Tailored Realities, launches this December, adding to a bibliography of more than 70 books.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential fantasy writers of the 21st century, Sanderson has sold over 45 million books globally and was chosen to complete Robert Jordan’s legendary The Wheel of Time series—later adapted for TV by Amazon Prime Video. His widely discussed Sanderson’s Laws of Magic continue to influence worldbuilding across literature, gaming, and film.

Additionally, MCM Birmingham Comic Con will return in 2026 following its hugely successful 2025 outing at the NEC—its biggest Birmingham event to date. The Birmingham show continues to grow as a fan-favourite stop in the MCM calendar, offering cosplay, creators, gaming, panels, and immersive pop-culture experiences.
