Maserati has taken centre stage at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026, showcasing the future of Italian luxury performance with the public debut of its updated model range, alongside the global premiere of the new Maserati Project GT4 racing car.
Set against the iconic Goodwood estate in West Sussex, the prestigious automotive event provided the perfect backdrop for the Trident brand to celebrate its heritage, innovation and racing ambitions as it marks 100 years of the Maserati Trident logo and a century of competition history.
Visitors attending the festival were able to experience the latest Maserati creations, including the updated GranTurismo, GranCabrio and Grecale, while high-performance models such as the MCPURA Cielo, GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema took on the legendary Goodwood Hillclimb.
Maserati’s New Generation Makes Its Festival Debut
The 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed marked the first public appearance of Maserati’s refreshed production line-up, with each model showcasing the brand’s latest design language and engineering advancements.
The vehicles displayed at the event featured exclusive Maserati Fuoriserie liveries, including:
- New Grecale finished in Orange Devil
- New GranCabrio presented in Blu Emozione
- New GranTurismo featuring a matte Green Jupiter finish
The updated GranTurismo and GranCabrio continue Maserati’s tradition of combining grand touring comfort with sports car performance. Both models are powered by the brand’s 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno engine, delivering up to 590 PS, more than 320 km/h top speed and 650 Nm of torque in Trofeo specification.
Featuring Formula 1-inspired pre-chamber combustion technology, the Nettuno engine has become a defining part of Maserati’s modern performance identity.
The vehicles also include all-wheel drive, adaptive air suspension and luxurious four-seat interiors, reinforcing Maserati’s vision of creating cars that can deliver both everyday refinement and thrilling driving experiences.
Maserati Project GT4 Revealed for the First Time
The biggest reveal at Goodwood came with the world premiere of Maserati Project GT4, a new track-focused machine developed by Maserati Corse.
Based on the architecture of the new GranTurismo, Project GT4 represents the next chapter in Maserati’s racing ambitions and follows the success of the brand’s GT2 competition programme.
Designed specifically for the growing GT4 racing category, the vehicle demonstrates Maserati’s philosophy of transferring technology between the racetrack and road cars.
Developed in Modena, Italy’s famous Motor Valley, Project GT4 features:
- A 3.0-litre V6 Nettuno engine
- Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion technology
- Rear-wheel drive
- Adjustable GT Trofeo suspension
- Bespoke braking systems and cooling
- 18-inch GT4-compliant alloy wheels
- Around 400kg weight reduction compared with the road-going GranTurismo
In specific racing configurations, the Nettuno engine can exceed 700 horsepower, highlighting the performance potential of Maserati’s latest motorsport project.
The car also debuted a special “100 Trident” livery, celebrating Maserati’s centenary. The design features a large Trident graphic running across the roof and rear, 100 subtle blue Trident symbols and colours inspired by Modena’s heritage.
Maserati’s Supercars Take on the Goodwood Hillclimb
Alongside the Project GT4 reveal, Maserati brought some of its most extreme models to the Supercar Paddock.
The MCPURA Cielo, GT2 Stradale and MCXtrema all participated in dynamic runs on the famous Goodwood Hillclimb — one of the most demanding and recognisable automotive challenges in the world.
The GT2 Stradale, the road-legal version of Maserati’s GT2 race car, highlighted the connection between competition engineering and road performance, while the MCPURA Cielo represented the latest evolution of Maserati’s supercar family.
Completing the line-up was the exclusive MCXtrema, a track-only hypercar limited to just 62 examples worldwide.
Powered by a Nettuno-derived 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine producing 740 hp, the MCXtrema arrived at Goodwood wearing a striking blue-and-yellow design inspired by Maserati’s hometown of Modena.
