Major League Baseball (MLB) today announced its free-to-attend fan festival will return to Trafalgar Square, ahead of MLB World Tour: London Series 2024 Presented by Zoom Workplace. After a hugely successful event last summer, the iconic landmark will again be transformed into the ultimate takeover between June 7-9, as the New York Mets take on Philadelphia Phillies in a 2-game series at London Stadium that weekend.
MLB London Series: Trafalgar Square Takeover has something for everyone and will enable fans from the UK, New York, Philadelphia and around the world to experience the best of baseball in the heart of London. The action-packed weekend will include a range of baseball entertainment, the chance swing for the fences in the Batting Boot Camp, ballpark food inspired by New York and Philadelphia, MLB merchandise, and a live screening of the main event – MLB World Tour: London Series 2024 Presented by Zoom Workplace.
Taking center stage again this year is The Cage, a unique live baseball experience that uses augmented reality to blend real life and virtual gameplay. Opening the London Series weekend on Friday night (June 7) Chase Utley (Phillies Legend) and Daniel Murphy (Mets Legend) will be joined by Gladiators – Apollo and Fire in support of Sport Relief as they take on a Home Run Derby like no other.

WATCH: Both London Series games between Mets and Phillies will be screened live on 3 big screens. MLB will recreate the ballpark atmosphere to enhance the experience with live DJs, hosts Aimee Fuller and Max Whittle, inning break entertainment, prize giveaways and more.
EAT: MLB has partnered with KERB to bring a feast of ballpark food with menus inspired by New York and Philadelphia specialty dishes.
SHOP: Available onsite will be exclusive MLB World Tour: London Series merch, headwear from all 30 MLB teams and much more.
PLAY: Hit it out of the park in our Batting Boot Camp, with ten batting cages there are plenty of chances to have a go along with coaches to assist you.
The free event is a great way for anyone wanting to experience Major League Baseball in an easily accessible location and also for fans heading to London Stadium to soak up the pe-game atmosphere – a key part of the MLB’s wider drive to introduce more fans to the sport to create a legacy for baseball.
In addition to MLB London Series: Trafalgar Square Takeover, MLB will have several activities across London throughout June in the build-up to the MLB World Tour: London Series 2024 Presented by Zoom Workplace, including opportunities for young people to try baseball in schools as part of the First Pitch programme and a First Pitch Festival.
