Musical artist, boxer andinternational YouTube sensation KSIhas unveiled his latest single, “Down Like That”featuring American rappers Rick Ross, Lil Baby and hip-hop producerS-X, released today via BMG and available on all streaming platforms. The triple threat is no stranger to grinding outside of the ring as well, throwing punches in the music industry. His prior release, Keep Up,debuted at #1 on the UK R&B Albums chart.
KSI (which stands for Knowledge, Strength, Integrity) is the professional name of Olajide “JJ” Olatunji. This weekend, he will emerge as a newly turned pro boxer, from amateur, as he will step into the ring to fight Logan Paul in a highly anticipated rematch. The headlining fight will take place at The Staples Center in Los Angeles and follows their highly publicised initial bout at Manchester Arena, which sold out to 20,000 eager fans and drew an audience of 2.5 million live viewers and over 19 million subsequent views making it the biggest internet event ever and the biggest white-collar boxing match in history.
To date, KSI’s main YouTube channel has accumulated more than four billion videoviewsand twenty million subscribers, which makes it the third most followed music channel in the U.K. behind Ed Sheeran and One Directionand making him the 99th most subscribed user on YouTubeinternationally. Named by Varietyas the top influencer amongst US teens, this latest single is the first of several successful hits, and further catapults him into the mainstream UK music scene.
Perhaps, the aptly named single will be prophetic.
