Critically acclaimed rapper Kojey Radical is set to headline the inaugural Sounds of Summer, closing out the festivities on Saturday, July 20th with an exclusive live performance on Carnaby Street. The free-to- attend community event is set to electrify Soho with weekly music programming featuring a mix of rising DJs and renowned artists.
Curated in association with local tastemakers Soho Radio, Sounds of Summer is designed to reflect the essence of Soho, capturing the heart and soul of this iconic London destination while celebrating its rich musical legacy and supporting contemporary talent. Bringing together some of London’s most celebrated artists, Kojey Radical will be supported by live performances by Kitty Liv and Sans Soucis and DJ sets throughout the afternoon hosted by Soho Radio.
Kojey Radical’s performance will feature tracks from his debut album Reason to Smile and EPs including Dear Daisy, 23Winters, In Gods Body, and Cashmere Tears. Fans can look forward to hearing favourites such as “Water,” “If Only,” and “Can’t Go Back,” alongside his latest releases. Known for his dynamic and engaging live performances, Kojey will bring his unique blend of rap, funk, spoken word, and poetry to the heart of Soho, promising an unforgettable show.
From Saturday, July 27th through to Saturday, August 17th, Sounds of Summer will continue with weekly takeovers of Kingly Court, featuring dynamic free-to-attend music sessions every Saturday. Curated by Soho Radio, these events will highlight bold performances from a diverse array of artists and provide a platform for emerging talents.
In addition to the main events, Sounds of Summer will bring fresh music programming to venues across Soho:
- The Little Violet Door: DJ-led house parties every Wednesday-Saturday
- Under The Counter: Eclectic music rotations daily, with guest DJs every Friday and Saturday from 9 PM to midnight
- Ain’t Nothin But: Daily jam sessions at London’s home of the blues
- The Broadwick Hotel: Vinyl spinning on July 17th, hosted by Third Man Records
- Inko Nito: DJ nights every Friday from 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM

Kojey Radical
Born and raised in East London, British Ghanaian Kwadwo Adu Genfi Amponsah aka Kojey Radical is often described as a “renaissance man”. At the forefront of a generation of young British artists who have pushed underground Black music into the mainstream over the past few years. Kojey embodies everything that makes an artist truly exciting in 2024; he’s an authentic and uncompromising creative force, constantly evolving and blurring boundaries as he moves from rap, funk, spoken word and poetry to fashion, art and film with an almost effortless fluidity.
Following a series of acclaimed EPs, Kojey Radical finally released his highly anticipated debut album Reason To Smile in March 2022. His most ambitious and complete work to date, Reason To Smile has been showered in accolades. Widely regarded as one of the year’s standout records, it was shortlisted for the prestigious Mercury Music prize and included in both album and video of the year categories at the MOBO Awards, with Kojey himself also being nominated for as ‘best hip-hop act! The praise continues into 2023 with Kojey nominated as a ‘Best New Artist’ at the Brit Awards.
