The season for iced drinks is fast approaching, and the new Cocoa-Fruit Frappé from Knoops might just be all you’ll need for the summer. A twist on the chocolate café’s customisable chocolate menu, this new addition is as delicious as it is unique, using the fruit’s pulp rather than the cocoa beans that Knoops’ signature beverages are derived from.
The brand new beverage is 100% vegan and naturally dairy-free, and is available throughout the UK alongside the regular Knoops menu of favourites, as the British brand continues to revolutionise chocolate drinks with its unique and completely customisable chocolate % menu.
While its name references ‘cocoa’, the similarity with chocolate ends there. Unlike chocolate, the Cocoa-Fruit Frappé isn’t made from beans, but from the fruit pulp that surrounds them, which delivers delicious notes of lychee and pear.
The pump makes up around a quarter of a cocoa pod’s volume, and is usually overlooked by chocolate makers. Knoops, being an industry innovator, has found a way to harness the pump and turn it into the base for its new Frappé. It means less food waste, a new, sustainable income stream for growers, and a refreshing new drink to quench our summer thirst.
