DC fans can finally suit up for a brand-new tabletop adventure as Justice League Unlimited: The Roleplaying Game has officially launched its crowdfunding campaign on Gamefound. Developed by D20 Culture in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the officially licensed RPG is the first dedicated Justice League tabletop roleplaying game in almost 20 years—and it introduces two brand-new canon DC supervillains created by legendary comic writer Mark Waid.
If you’ve been looking for your next tabletop RPG after the rise in popularity of games inspired by superhero universes, this could be one of the biggest launches of 2026.
Justice League Unlimited Brings New Canon Villains To The DC Universe
Perhaps the biggest surprise of the campaign is the debut of Pasquinade and Chernobog, two original villains written specifically for the game by Mark Waid.
Pasquinade is described as a reality-warping god of satire capable of reshaping the world to fit his distorted ideals, while Chernobog is an immense cosmic force representing darkness and entropy—powerful enough to threaten Superman himself.
Speaking about the new characters, Waid explained that he wanted to create villains who couldn’t simply be defeated through brute strength.
“They’re threats that demand teamwork, difficult choices and ingenuity,” Waid said, adding that players will need to think creatively whether they’re controlling iconic DC heroes or original creations.
Create Your Own Superhero Or Play As DC Legends
Set during the events surrounding DC’s Absolute Power era, the RPG places players within the expanded Justice League Unlimited, operating from the iconic Watchtower.
Rather than limiting players to existing heroes, the game allows players to:
- Create an entirely original superhero
- Play as legendary Justice League members
- Complete cinematic combat encounters
- Take part in rescue missions
- Experience character-driven story moments
- Face reality-changing Crisis events
Character creation is one of the game’s biggest focuses, letting players build heroes from backgrounds including:
- Amazons
- Kryptonians
- Meta-Humans
- Cyber Constructs
Players can then spend Ascension Points (PAX) to unlock abilities ranging from Speed Force powers and Lantern Rings to advanced technology and powerful magic.

A Major Return For DC Tabletop RPGs
Although superhero RPGs have become increasingly popular in recent years, official DC tabletop games have been notably absent.
Justice League Unlimited marks the franchise’s first officially licensed Justice League RPG in nearly two decades, making it a significant release for both tabletop enthusiasts and longtime DC fans.
Whether you want to become the next Kryptonian hero, join Batman on missions from the Watchtower, or create an entirely original protector of Earth, the game aims to deliver the scale and spectacle fans expect from the DC Universe.
