The Everton Goalie met Harry, to his surprise, in the treatment room at Finch Farm as part of the Premier League’s ‘Fan Mail’ series – following on from Harry Kane visiting a primary school as part of the Premier League’s Primary Stars initiative.
In the emotional video, Harry shows off his goalkeeping skills to the England keeper saving their penalties, despite his treatment restricting him from playing football too frequently. Full of personality, Harry had some of Everton first-team players in stitches including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Conor Coady, Demerai Gray and Alex Iwobi after posing them questions and showing off his Mbappe celebration.
Harry was aged five when he became seriously ill and suffered a lung collapse which the medics later diagnosed was a result of an eight-centimetre-long brain tumour. After nine hours of surgery, they removed 90 per cent of the tumour. But nine months later the remaining 10 per cent became active and he needed 28 days of radiotherapy to stop it growing.
Towards the end of this treatment, Harry’s dad suddenly passed away. But through it all Harry’s enthusiasm for his favourite club Everton and idol Jordan Pickford remained wearing his Everton shirt throughout all the tough times.
