HP’s New AI PCs Aim to Cut Admin Work and Free Up Time

HP has launched AI-powered PCs to help alleviate the admin burden, and give workers more time for meaningful tasks – and to even reclaim their lunch breaks. In a unique promotion, HP offered a complimentary three-course lunch at Hawksmoor Wood Wharf to those who submitted a task for the new AI PC to tackle while they dined.

The initiative was supported by research recently commissioned by the brand via YouGov, which found that within the 1,200 UK workers polled, nearly two-thirds believe AI could make their jobs easier. As it stands, many still feel pressured to skip breaks, with 2 in 5 office workers never taking a full hour for lunch, and almost 1 in 3 skipping lunch to catch up on admin tasks.

Even more shockingly, 1 in 6 spend 40% or more of their workday solely on admin tasks, leaving minimal time for their core responsibilities. Many respondents also reported missing out on important life events and personal priorities due to work demands – over 1 in 5 have missed a school event for their child, 22% have skipped medical appointments, and 29% have foregone exercise.

In an era where workers often feel pressure not to take a full lunch break in spite of its beneficial impacts on health and happiness, business leaders are beginning to recognise the role that AI can play in alleviating tedious tasks, to help people focus on what truly matters in their roles and ways of working.

Neil Sawyer, MD of HP Northwest Europe, said:

“AI is set to be a significant driver of change in the future of work, increasing productivity and allowing workers to enjoy their jobs more by taking simple and repetitive tasks off their plates […] In the UK, 65% of workers believe AI will make their jobs easier, and at HP we want to make this a reality by empowering workers with the latest in AI technology to achieve their aspirations.”

HP have introduced the HP OmniBook Ultra Flip 14-inch Next-Gen AI PC, HP’s first 2-in-1 AI laptop, which combines style, performance, and flexibility with the powerful AI Companion powered by the Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 Processor. It enables users to ask questions, analyse documents, and gather insights to streamline admin tasks in an ideal AI creation experience.

With the powerful Intel Core Ultra 7 Processor and up to 32 GB LPDDR5x memory, the new PC combines high AI processing power with advanced Neural Processing Units for smooth, creative workflows. The built-in HP AI Companion assists with file analysis and queries, while smart security features like “lock on leave” and “wake on approach” keep your data secure and accessible only to you.

HP’s recent initiative showcased the real-life benefits of AI for busy professionals. By offering a complimentary lunch at Hawksmoor Wood Wharf in exchange for a simple task submission, HP’s AI PC demonstrated how it could handle time-consuming tasks like report writing or document analysis. After their meal, guests received their “bill”—a workflow sheet showing how AI had tackled their task. This experience highlighted how AI can free up valuable time for meaningful work, making a full lunch break possible and underscoring AI’s potential to boost productivity and improve work-life balance.

The HP OmniBook Ultra 14-inch Next Gen AI PC is priced at £1,699.99, and is available to purchase from HP right here.
