GREGGS ENTERS ITS MATCHA ERA WITH NEW ICED DRINKS AND A LONDON PILATES POP-UP

Greggs is officially having a matcha moment. The UK’s most beloved on-the-go food retailer is launching a brand-new Iced Matcha range, landing in shops nationwide from Thursday 5 February, with prices starting at just £3. Yes — matcha at Greggs is officially a thing.

Known for championing value-led food and drink on the high street, the brand is expanding its beverage offering with a trio of iced drinks designed to bring one of the biggest café trends to the masses — without the premium price tag.

What’s in the New Greggs Iced Matcha Range?

The new line-up introduces three chilled drinks that blend wellness culture with Greggs’ famously accessible pricing:

  • Iced Matcha Latte (£3)

  • Vanilla Iced Matcha Latte (£3.60)

  • Strawberry Iced Matcha Latte (£3.60)

Each drink is made with matcha green tea and semi-skimmed milk, offering a lighter alternative to traditional iced coffees — and a nod to the growing popularity of matcha across UK café culture. The launch also places Greggs firmly in the conversation around affordable wellness, a trend we’ve previously explored in our coverage of high-street food innovations.

Greggs Is Celebrating With Its First-Ever Pilates Studio

To mark the launch, Greggs is going one step further — blending wellness with pastry by opening its first-ever Pilates pop-up: Greggs: Matcha & Move.

Taking place on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 February, the exclusive experience will pop up in central London, offering fans the chance to take part in a Greggs-themed Pilates session, followed by a well-earned iced matcha and a classic Greggs bake.

Expect tongue-in-cheek moves like the Sausage Roll Up and Yum Yum Twist, alongside a free Iced Matcha, paired with either a Greggs Sausage Roll or Vegan Roll (Pork Free).

Limited-Edition Merch and Tote Bag Personalisation

As if Pilates and pastries weren’t enough, attendees will also leave with a limited-edition Greggs merch bundle, including:

  • A Greggs-branded Pilates mat

  • Tote bag

  • Sweat towel

  • Socks

  • Cap

There’s also an on-site embroidery station, where guests can personalise their tote bag with their initials — making this one of Greggs’ most Instagrammable activations yet. It follows a growing trend of experiential brand events, similar to those we’ve spotlighted in our UK pop-up culture coverage.

“We Think Our Customers Are Going to Love It So Matcha”

Speaking on the launch, a Greggs spokesperson said:
“We’re on a mission to offer our customers more choice and quality than ever before, without the premium price tag. By introducing our trio of Iced Matcha drinks, we’re making a trending favourite accessible to everyone on the high street.”

With affordable pricing, playful branding and a full-blown wellness pop-up, Greggs’ matcha era might just be its most unexpected — and most on-trend — chapter yet.
