GIVENCHY’S AUTUMN BEAUTY EDIT: SATIN LIPS AND THE NEW L’INTERDIT ELIXIR

Givenchy Beauty is welcoming the new season with two luxurious launches designed to elevate the autumn beauty routine, from luminous satin-finish lips to an intoxicating new fragrance.

As summer gives way to autumn, beauty routines naturally begin to shift towards richer colours, warmer textures and more indulgent scents. This season, Givenchy Beauty is leaning into that transition with two standout launches: Le Rouge Satin Silk and L’Interdit Elixir.

Combining Givenchy’s Couture heritage with modern beauty trends, the new additions offer a fresh take on two autumn essentials: the statement lip and the signature fragrance.

Givenchy Le Rouge Satin Silk: The Statement Lip Gets a Makeover

The statement lip is making its return for autumn, but this time, ultra-matte finishes are taking a back seat.

Instead, the new season is all about rich colour, soft definition and a luminous finish that feels as comfortable as it looks sophisticated.

Givenchy’s new Le Rouge Satin Silk collection taps into this shift, offering vibrant colour alongside a skincare-focused formula designed to keep lips feeling hydrated.

Available in 19 shades, the range promises up to 12 hours of colour and up to 48 hours of hydration, making it an appealing option for anyone looking for a bold lip without sacrificing comfort.

The lipstick comes housed in a sculptural black-and-silver case inspired by Givenchy Couture, while the brand’s distinctive pointed “pinch bullet” is designed to offer precision during application — potentially eliminating the need for lip liner.

Couture-Inspired Shades

The collection draws further inspiration from the Givenchy fashion house, with individual shades referencing elements of the brand’s history.

N05 George 5, a warm almond nude, pays homage to Givenchy’s historic Parisian atelier on Avenue George V. Meanwhile, P227 Pink Silhouette, a vibrant deep rose, takes inspiration from the clean precision of a perfectly tailored silhouette.

The result is a lipstick collection that combines high-impact colour with the softer, more wearable finish dominating autumn beauty trends.

L’Interdit Elixir: Givenchy’s Most Intense Take Yet

Alongside its new satin lip collection, Givenchy is turning up the intensity with L’Interdit Elixir, the latest evolution of the Maison’s iconic fragrance.

The original L’Interdit has a particularly notable place in Givenchy history. Created by Hubert de Givenchy for his close friend Audrey Hepburn, it became the fashion house’s first fragrance and has long been associated with individuality, confidence and crossing boundaries.

L’Interdit Elixir takes that spirit and gives it a darker, more intense interpretation.

Reworked by perfumers Dominique Ropion, Anne Flipo and Meabh McCurtin, the fragrance introduces a gourmand dimension to L’Interdit’s signature white floral character.

The opening combines black cherry and bitter almond essence, creating a juicy yet slightly bitter introduction before moving into the heart of the fragrance.

Here, jasmine, orange blossom and tuberose form the signature white floral bouquet, while oakwood extract adds depth and a more powerful woody character.

The base is where L’Interdit Elixir becomes particularly rich. Rum absolute, davana essence and vanilla extract create a warm, liqueur-inspired accord, complemented by the woody notes of vetiver and patchouli.

The concentrated composition makes it particularly well suited to autumn, when warmer, deeper and more enveloping fragrances traditionally come into their own.

A Fragrance Bottle Inspired by the Ruby

The autumnal appeal of L’Interdit Elixir extends beyond the fragrance itself.

The bottle takes inspiration from the ruby, a gemstone traditionally associated with strength and protection. Its colour moves from an incandescent red into deep black, creating a jewel-like appearance that mirrors the intensity of the scent inside.

The accompanying case continues the theme, combining vibrant red with subtle silver detailing.

L’Interdit Elixir is available in 35ml, 50ml and 80ml sizes.

Rooney Mara Brings L’Interdit Elixir to Life

The fragrance’s connection to fashion and Couture is further explored through its new campaign, starring Rooney Mara, who has represented L’Interdit since 2018.

For the campaign, Mara wears a spectacular custom-made jeweled creation crafted by the artisans of Maison Goossens for Givenchy.

Blurring the line between armour and jewellery, the sculptural piece reflects the central duality of L’Interdit Elixir: strength and sensuality existing side by side.

The campaign also marks another chapter in Givenchy’s ongoing relationship between Couture, fragrance and femininity, presenting L’Interdit Elixir as more than simply a perfume, but as an accessory designed to enhance the presence of the person wearing it.

The Ultimate Autumn Beauty Pairing?

Together, Le Rouge Satin Silk and L’Interdit Elixir offer two different ways to embrace autumn beauty.

The lipstick brings rich, luminous colour and hydration to the beauty routine, while L’Interdit Elixir adds a deeper, warmer sensory element with its combination of florals, woods, vanilla and liqueur-like notes.

For anyone looking to refresh their beauty wardrobe for the new season, Givenchy’s latest launches make a strong case for satin lips and statement fragrance becoming autumn’s defining combination.
