Eurosmash Festival Comes to Woolwich Works for Eurovision Fans this May Bank Holiday

As festival season approaches and the Eurovision Song Contest peers from around the corner, this might just be the ideal way to kick things off.

For one day only, Woolwich Works will play host to Eurosmash Festival – the only place for Eurovision fans to be this May Bank Holiday. The unique event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy music, food, comedy, and games, whilst celebrating and indulging in some guilty pleasure Europop favourites – with some very familiar faces appearing across its two stages…

The South London venue, renowned as a hub for diverse arts, will be bringing live acts and much-loved hits to this fun, camp, and fan-focussed extravaganza. Surprises and plenty of nostalgia are promised, with an epic lineup of artists set to appear to celebrate the best of Eurovision.

Confirmed acts so far include Irish legends and dynamic duo Jedward, iconic 1997 UK winner Katrina (appearing without her Waves) who rocked the Eurovision stage with Love Shine A Light, hand-washing Queen Konstrakta, 2017 runner-up Kristian Kostov, and of course, everyone favourite Norwegian wolves (one of which you may also know as Ben Adams from A1) Subwoolfer. With many more still to be announced, the lineup promises to electrify Woolwich Works, much like the Eurovision stage itself.

Other than the music, there’s a fantastic schedule of lively festival-style entertainment, from comedy and drag queens (including Geri Halliwell impersonator Just May) to game stands and themed food trucks. The courtyard will feature a variety of European themed bites, including Swedish dishes from Scandilicious and Italian specialities from Freewheelin’ Pizza, as well as bars serving up craft beers, cocktails, and soft drinks.

Woolwich Works, named London’s ‘best new culture spot’, is renowned for its exciting, ever-changing program of arts and live performances. Recently restored with an industrial feel, the main stage boasts of fantastic sightlines, while the yard outside offers a brilliant place to relax, enjoy a drink, and listen to the music playing on the stages.

This is set to be the event of the May Bank Holiday, and an unmissable one for Eurovision fans nationwide – and as far as top tips go, this is a douze points from us.
