Essential Things to Know When Travelling

It may come as a surprise to many, but cannabis has the ability to calm people down in stressful situations. As exciting as travelling can be, it comes with its fair share of stress and anxiety.

Often, people rely on CBD products to help them fall asleep when travelling across timezones throws their body clock out of sync. For certain travellers who have aches and pains, CBD creams and lotions, or products that can be consumed orally, are highly beneficial in easing their discomfort. Items such as CBD gummies, Tinymight 2, CBD tincture or a CBD capsule travel pack are just a few of the choices that travellers can choose from. For many travellers, using cannabis products is a way to relieve themselves from tension and calm themselves down.

It is important to note that different countries and regions have vastly differing rules with regard to the carriage of CBD products. In other words, the legality of CBD products is entirely dependent on the location one wishes to visit.  Even though certain countries may have a somewhat relaxed approach to CBD, it still remains illegal in numerous countries. So, if you are planning on carrying CBD products with you when you travel next, here are some essential pointers to keep in mind:

Be aware of local laws

Arguably the most important point to keep in mind is the fact that different countries (and sometimes even states or provinces within a country) have different laws related to CBD. Therefore, before setting off for somewhere with CBD products, it is absolutely necessary to familiarise yourself with the laws of the place you intend to go to. It is always advisable to consult an expert in case of any doubt, and if you are still not sure, it would be wiser to not carry CBD products with you.

Plan ahead and be cautious

The use of CBD products is still a relatively new phenomenon, and there is still a high degree of paranoia and apprehension surrounding them. Rules and restrictions, therefore, are bound to be on the more stringent side. When travelling, it is always a good idea to be fully prepared and err on the side of safety. When purchasing a CBD product, make sure you familiarise yourself with the product fully, so that you can minimise the chances of getting into a messy situation in a foreign land.

Know what your CBD products contain

The CBD industry is one that is very poorly regulated, and this makes CBD products come under intense scrutiny. Companies that manufacture CBD products do not always implement quality checks, and as a result, the products may end up containing trace materials which may end up causing an unfavourable situation. Even otherwise, it is always recommended that you know what goes into the CBD products you purchase.

Keep documentation handy

Just to make sure you don’t end up getting caught on the wrong foot, keep documents such as bills or receipts or any proof of purchase with you, so that if questioned you can provide documentary evidence that you purchased your CBD product from a legitimate source. You can easily avoid a lot of trouble simply by ensuring that your paperwork is in order.

Carry your prescription with you

If you are using cannabis-containing drugs, or using cannabis or CBD products for medicinal purposes, it is strongly recommended to always carry your prescription with you. Some countries issue registration cards for people who possess and consume cannabis for medical reasons. If you are from such a country, do remember to carry your registration card with you as a matter of habit whenever you travel. You never know where you may be required to present documentation to authenticate yourself for carrying CBD products, so keeping the registration card in an easily accessible place is highly useful.

Bring CBD products in your carry-on luggage

If you need to travel with CBD products, the smartest thing to do is to be transparent and direct about it. Acting as if you have something to hide will only invite suspicion and a potentially dangerous encounter with the authorities. Placing CBD products deep inside a suitcase could well prompt airport security personnel to break open the suitcase and rummage through your personal items. Not only does this increase the risk of getting detained, it also increases the chances of your items getting stolen.

Keep airport rules in mind

Nowadays, most airports have strict rules about the quantity of liquids allowed to be carried by passengers. Make sure you read up on baggage rules so that your CBD products do not get confiscated by the airport security personnel.

With these pointers in mind, you will be able to ensure a smooth and enjoyable travel experience. Just by researching beforehand and keeping documents ready at all times, travelling with CBD products will not feel like a hassle.
