ELLISE DROPS SOPHOMORE ALBUM “PRETTY EVIL”

Ellise, whose breakout single “911” seismically redefined the pop scene – amassing over 440 million global streams, marks a striking return with her sophomore album, “PRETTY EVIL.” The record chronicles the trials and terrors she braved on a steadfast journey to reclaim her voice from industry titans while navigating deep personal conflicts. After the success of “911”, the Iraqi-American artist found herself losing creative control, caught in an industry machine that sought to dictate her sound, image, and narrative. The pressure to conform left her disillusioned, forcing her to take a step back and rediscover her artistic identity on her own terms.

Now, Ellise makes her comeback with “PRETTY EVIL”, a dark pop confessional that fully embodies her raw, unfiltered vision. Dripping with lust, heartache, jealousy, and more, the album pulls listeners into a hypnotic spiral of love and loss revealing that Ellise held the double-edged dagger all along. Executive produced by Arthur Besna (Nessa Barret, Baby Storme, Bludnymph), the album was heralded in recent months for its haunting singles including “dead2me,” which landed Ellise the cover of SALT on Spotify. Additionally, the album’s third single “valentine,” became a fan favorite during her performances on Madison Beer’s Spinnin’ tour and was spotlighted by Ones To Watch which adored, “her fearless, transformative artistry [that] is reshaping modern pop.”

“PRETTY EVIL’s premiere single, “bite” is a cinematic commentary on the conflicting nature of heartbreak – how, despite knowing someone is not meant for you – the gravity of love is often too fearsome to break. The accompanying video illustrates a toxic romance with riveting visuals that evoke the nostalgic glamour of a hopeless romance that would have you “die just to take another bite.”

The record received its debut performance on the Bishop Briggs The Tell My Therapist I’m Fine Tour which Ellise joined as a special guest performer. Music Junkie‘s recent feature story applauded “her magnetic stage presence and a voice that cuts straight to the soul.” exclaiming that “Ellise has firmly claimed her spot in the music scene.”
