Stars of Hoppers, Piper Curda and Bobby Moynihan, visited the Ealing Beaver Project in West London this week as part of UK press activity ahead of the film’s cinema release on Friday, 6 March.
The pair travelled to the community-led conservation site at Paradise Fields to tour the area and take part in a special naming ceremony for one of the project’s beaver kits. The young beaver was named “Mabel”, after the film’s protagonist, voiced by Curda in the upcoming Pixar and Walt Disney Pictures animated adventure.
A Community Project Bringing Beavers Back to London
The Ealing Beaver Project is a community-driven initiative aimed at reintroducing beavers into an urban environment while improving biodiversity and encouraging public engagement with wildlife conservation.
In October 2023, a family of Eurasian beavers was introduced to the Paradise Fields site, marking a significant step in urban rewilding efforts. The area is now home to eight beavers, including Chewbacca, Woody, Willow, Chompy and the newly named Mabel.
Projects like this highlight the growing movement to restore native wildlife populations in cities, something that mirrors the environmental themes explored in Hoppers.

VIP Screening Celebrates Upcoming Pixar Adventure
The visit followed a VIP family screening held at Vue West End on Sunday, where filmmakers and cast members gathered to celebrate the film’s UK debut.
Director Daniel Chong and producer Nicole Paradis Grindle attended the event alongside members of the voice cast including Dave Franco and UK cameo star Amanda Holden.
What Is Hoppers About?
In Hoppers, animal lover Mabel discovers a groundbreaking technology that allows her to “hop” her consciousness into a life-like robotic beaver, enabling her to communicate directly with animals.
Once inside the animal world, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver King George, voiced by Moynihan. Together, they uncover unexpected mysteries within nature while preparing to unite the animal kingdom against an imminent threat from humans—led by smooth-talking mayor Jerry Generazzo, voiced by Jon Hamm.
The all-star voice cast also includes Kathy Najimy and Meryl Streep, with an original score by Mark Mothersbaugh.
Hoppers opens exclusively in cinemas across the UK on Friday, 6 March.
