Specifically designed for Pret’s iconic Christmas Lunch sandwich this locked Lunch Locker has been created to ensure colleagues, friends or family, keep their mitts off the prized Pret sarnie.
While it can happen at home or in the office, workplace fridges have always been a hot spot for lunch lifting, and this is backed by data commissioned by Deliveroo and Pret, which reveals that 3 in 10 (32.5%) Brits have considered stealing a lunch item from someone, and more than 8 in 10 (87.5%) of those who have stolen someone else’s lunch… and would do it again.
To prevent the iconic and mouth-watering Pret Christmas Lunch Sandwich from being stolen by hungry coworkers (without the need for passive-aggressive post-stick notes which say “MY SANDWICH!!”), Deliveroo and Pret have teamed up to create a limited-edition ‘Lunch Locker’ – a lockable custom sandwich cage that will help to deter any rude-off colleagues, friends or family swiping the sandwich.
Data commissioned by Deliveroo and Pret has revealed that men are more likely to consider swiping someone’s lunch than women (40.4% vs 24.7%). It also comes as no surprise that those in the capital are the biggest stealers of lunches, as data shows that more than 5 in 10 Londoners (55.5%) have stolen someone’s lunch before, and 9 in 10 (94%) of those Londoners would consider doing it again.
It has also been revealed that when it comes to stealing lunch, people like to get in early before anyone has a chance to get suspicious – nearly 5 in 10 (43.4%) of those surveyed admitted to being most likely to knick someone else’s sarnie in the morning, between 8 am and midday.
