Londoners were treated to a superhero-sized surprise today when Milly Alcock, star of the upcoming Supergirl movie, appeared 45 feet above the streets of Shoreditch perched atop the famous tube carriages on the roof of Village Underground.
The spectacular stunt was organised to celebrate the arrival of DC Studios’ Supergirl, which lands in UK cinemas and IMAX screens on 25 June 2026 via Warner Bros. Pictures.
Milly Alcock Takes Flight Over Shoreditch!
Drones captured the dramatic moment as Alcock sat atop one of Village Underground’s iconic Jubilee Line tube carriages, transformed into a striking piece of superhero-inspired street art.
The train carriages were recently reimagined by renowned British street art collective MurWalls, whose team of four artists spent over 20 hours creating vibrant interstellar designs inspired by the upcoming film.
The result was a visually stunning tribute to one of DC’s most beloved heroes, turning one of East London’s most recognisable landmarks into a cosmic celebration of Supergirl’s arrival on the big screen.
Village Underground’s Rooftop Trains Open to the Public This Summer!
The activation comes just weeks before the highly anticipated launch of the Village Underground rooftop terrace bar, which is scheduled to open in July as part of the venue’s 20th anniversary celebrations.
For the first time, visitors will be able to access the legendary rooftop train carriages that have become a defining feature of the Shoreditch skyline.

What Is Supergirl About?
The latest chapter in the new DC Universe follows Kara Zor-El, better known as Supergirl, played by Milly Alcock.
According to the official synopsis, when a ruthless and unexpected enemy threatens those closest to her, Kara is forced to embark on an epic interstellar adventure alongside an unlikely ally.
