CHUKU’S CHOP STOP BRINGS BOLD NIGERIAN FLAVOURS TO LONDON’S BOXHALL CITY

London’s vibrant food scene is getting another exciting addition this spring as BOXHALL City welcomes Chuku’s Chop Stop to its popular Kitchen No.8 residency space.

The latest concept comes from celebrated Nigerian restaurant Chuku’s, founded by siblings Ifeyinwa Frederick and Emeka Frederick. Launching on 11 May, the new grab-and-go venture reimagines the restaurant’s signature Nigerian flavours in a fast-paced format designed for busy Londoners.

Chuku’s Returns to Its Pop-Up Roots

What started as a small pop-up a decade ago has since evolved into one of London’s most talked-about Nigerian dining destinations. Chuku’s has earned recognition as one of the UK’s Top 100 Local Restaurants and built a loyal following that includes celebrity fans such as Gabrielle Union.

Now, to celebrate its ten-year anniversary, the brand is returning to its pop-up beginnings with Chuku’s Chop Stop — bringing comforting Nigerian dishes to the heart of the City.

According to co-founder Ifeyinwa Frederick, the residency marks an important milestone for the brand.

“Ten years ago, we started Chuku’s as a pop-up to put Nigerian cuisine on London’s food map. So it feels exciting to be returning to our pop-up roots to mark our ten year anniversary.”

What’s on the Menu?

Visitors can expect a menu packed with vibrant Lagos-inspired flavours, including hearty Jollof Rice Bowls, loaded Naija-style fries, and crowd-favourite sides.

The menu also stays true to Chuku’s playful and creative approach to Nigerian cuisine, featuring dishes such as Suya Meatballs and the indulgent Chocolate Yam Brownie.

Importantly, the residency also caters to a wide range of dietary requirements, with vegan, gluten-free and halal options available.

Bringing Nigerian Food to Everyday London Life

For co-founder Emeka Frederick, the BOXHALL residency represents something much bigger than a temporary pop-up.

“Before Chuku’s, I worked in the City and Nigerian food was never part of the available lunch options. Back then, the idea of being able to step out and grab Jollof nearby felt far-fetched.”

He added that Chuku’s Chop Stop reflects the brand’s long-standing mission to make Nigerian cuisine more accessible across London.

BOXHALL Continues Supporting Emerging Food Concepts

BOXHALL City has quickly built a reputation for spotlighting exciting culinary talent through its rotating Kitchen No.8 residency programme.

Luther Dyer, General Manager at BOXHALL City, described Chuku’s as a perfect fit for the venue’s growing food offering.

“Their bold take on Nigerian cuisine, strong sense of community and established following make them an exciting addition, and we can’t wait for guests to experience their flavours in this new, grab-and-go format.”

With its mix of globally inspired food concepts and rising culinary talent, BOXHALL continues to cement itself as one of London’s most exciting food destinations.

A Must-Visit London Food Pop-Up This Spring

With rich flavours, a cult following and a fresh take on Nigerian street food, Chuku’s Chop Stop looks set to become one of the City’s must-visit food spots this season.

The residency will only be available for a limited time as part of BOXHALL’s rotating chef programme.
