Why Brixton? A Natural Fit for Korean Street Food
Brixton has long been one of London’s most vibrant cultural hubs, known for its market-led food scene, nightlife, and global influences. With high footfall and a strong evening economy, it provides a natural home for Bunsik’s fast, bold, grab-and-go concept.
The launch also signals the brand’s confidence in South London as a key growth area for Korean street food in the capital.
What’s on the Menu at Bunsik Brixton
At the heart of the menu are Bunsik’s signature Korean corndogs, made fresh to order and fully customisable. Expect gooey mozzarella and chicken fillings, crispy coatings, optional sugar dusting, and a variety of sauces designed for maximum flavour and “cheese pull” appeal.
The wider menu includes:
- Tteokbokki – chewy rice cakes in spicy gochujang sauce
- Kimbap – Korean-style seaweed rice rolls
- Korean fried chicken – crispy, sauced and shareable
- Cup bap rice bowls – quick, filling street-food staples
All meat served is halal, and vegetarian options are available across the menu.

Since launching in London in 2021, Bunsik has been at the forefront of the UK’s Korean corndog craze. Its signature cheese pulls and photogenic street-food format have gone viral across platforms like TikTok and Instagram, helping fuel a nationwide demand for Korean-inspired fast food.

A Founder With Nearly Two Decades of Experience
Behind Bunsik is founder Jae Cho, part of the Maguro Group, which brings close to 20 years of experience in Korean-led hospitality across the UK.
Jae Cho said:
“London is where Bunsik began, and it’s still central to how we think about the brand. Expanding into South London is an important step for us, and Brixton felt like the right place to do that. It’s an area with a strong identity, a lot of energy, and a real connection between food and culture, which aligns closely with how Bunsik operates.”
Part of a Bigger UK Expansion Plan
The Brixton opening is just one part of a wider rollout for the brand. A second London-style site in Manchester’s Trafford Centre is set to open later in May, with additional UK locations confirmed for 2026.
The Brixton branch also marks Bunsik’s first franchised London location, operated by CMB Hospitality — signalling a new phase of growth for the brand.
What This Means for London’s Street Food Scene
With Korean food continuing to grow in popularity across the UK, Bunsik’s arrival in South London strengthens Brixton’s position as one of the capital’s most exciting food destinations.
From viral corndogs to spicy rice cakes, the brand is set to bring even more energy — and queues — to Brixton Road this May.
