Britain’s hottest rising club-pop star Samira is back with a summer scorcher, ‘Cardio’. The racy electronic-dance track is the first taste of the South London siren’s forthcoming second EP.

Written by Samira with Vince Kidd and Jonny Parry (who worked on her last single ‘Valentine’s Day), ‘Cardio’ is centred on a sexually-confident woman unafraid to test her suitor’s stamina on and off the dance floor.
2025 continues to stack up favourably for Samira. Following the release of her anthem ‘Valentine’s Day (I Ain’t Got Time For That)‘, she played her first solo gig, turning the sold-out space at Soho’s Lower Third into a sweaty club night. The setlist cemented her pop star readiness with wall-to-wall bangers stretching from her debut EP “Dancefloors & Drama Vol.1” to future floor-fillers from her upcoming EP.
Speaking to HUNGER about this new era, Samira said: “
My music has always been driven by club culture. You can hear bits of house and drum ‘n’ bass across my catalogue – I love dance music. There are more tracks to come from the EP, I’m so excited to finally get them out there!”
‘Cardio’ arrives hot on the heels of her emotional house-pop collaboration ‘Missing’ with Alex Kirsch, which has been added to Apple Music’s New Music Daily and Future Dance Hits, and Spotify’s New Dance Pop playlists and more.
Following the release of her debut EP “Dancefloors & Drama Vol. 1”, Samira spent the majority of 2024 in the studio working on the follow-up with some of the industry’s most exciting names in UK dance, electronic and pop.
She dropped a taste of her experimentations last summer with the emotive, DnB infused track ‘See Through You‘. In between writing sessions, Samira also shot her first film acting role in the upcoming indie horror, Bambi: The Reckoning, due for release this year.
The string of singles she has released have showcased her undeniable ability to spin bittersweet experiences into solid pop bangers, garnering buzz and press support from BBC Radio 1 Future Pop, MTV UK, Billboard, NME Best New Bangers, and CLASH.
Further to writing with renowned pop songwriters and producers like Cutfather (Kylie Minogue) and Kal Lavelle (Ed Sheeran), Samira continues to keep her footing in the fast-paced UK dance music scene. Her collaboration with WDCon the club remake of ‘I Love Your Smile’ earned Samira the first of her three UK Top 5 Club Chart placements. She also teamed up with in-demand British DJ ESSEL for the infectious ‘Where My Girls At’.
