BORN TO BE DIFFERENT | DR. MARTENS REUNITES WITH THE GREAT FROG FOR A SECOND COLLABORATION

For over half a century, The Great Frog’s jewellery has embellished the knuckles, wrists, and necks of generations of anti-mainstream icons and rock ‘n’ roll royalty. Dr. Martens and The Great Frog are known for crafting symbols of alt-fashion counterculture and unapologetic self-expression. Their second collaboration continues a mutual embrace of the unordinary, featuring buckles hand-carved by TGF Creative Director Reino Lehtonen-Riley.

With roots in the age of analogue subcultures and music iconography, Dr. Martens and The Great Frog are two brands that understand the significance of crafting products adopted by style-defining communities. Whether it’s boots or rings, their products have become vehicles for self-expression that greets the status quo with a middle finger. The styles and trends of the people who adopt their products might be shifting with the years, but their products’ roles in people’s style are as important as ever. The second collaboration and campaign shoot — featuring emerging singer-songwriter Florence Rose, stylist and visual artist Beau Tiger Rae and model Mars Chen— celebrates this spirit of fluid, unrelenting self-expression.

“Since the success of the first DM’s x TGF collection, I’ve been able to explore design ideas inspired by the roots of both The Great Frog and Dr. Martens; the early days of classic British rock n roll culture — but reinventing it through a modern lens with a new British youth culture DIY punk aesthetic.”
Reino Lehtonen-Riley, TGF Creative Director and Owner

The collection spans three hardware-heavy silhouettes, including the 1460 boot, Ramsey creeper, and 7″ Satchel. The Great Frog is the third partner to collaborate on DM’s most recognisable creeper silhouette in 2024 as part of its revival for a new generation of wearers.
