Argos has unveiled its Top Toys for Christmas 2026, with retro favourites, interactive technology, blockbuster-inspired gifts and creative playsets all expected to feature heavily on children’s wishlists this festive season.
With the summer holidays coming to an end and families beginning to think about Christmas shopping, Argos has revealed the 20 toys its experts predict will be among the most sought-after gifts of 2026.
The retailer’s annual Top Toys list brings together everything from nostalgic throwbacks and classic wooden toys to screen-free audio players, interactive pets and toys inspired by some of the biggest names in film and television.
Retro Toys Are Making A Comeback For Christmas 2026
Nostalgia is set to play a major role in Christmas wishlists this year, with several classic-style toys receiving a modern update.
One of the most unusual picks on the list is the Mini Brands Really Works Vinyl Playset, priced at £20. The miniature record player really spins and plays music, while children can build a collection of tiny vinyl records.
Retro gaming also gets the LEGO treatment with the LEGO Donkey Kong Arcade Building Set, priced at £150. Inspired by classic arcade gaming, the set allows fans to recreate a Donkey Kong-style arcade experience in brick form.
Elsewhere, the Hot Wheels City Ultimate T-Rex Garage offers plenty of high-energy action, with storage for up to 50 cars and a dinosaur-themed play experience.
Classic wooden toys also feature strongly on the list, including the Chad Valley Alfie and Jo Wooden Train Set and the Chad Valley Wooden Classic Kitchen.
Interactive Toys And Technology Take Centre Stage
Technology continues to influence the way children play, with several interactive products making the Argos Top Toys for Christmas 2026 list.
One of the biggest upcoming launches is Tonies Lite, which is set to arrive in October. Priced at £60, the portable audio player is designed as a travel-friendly addition to the popular Tonies range, offering children access to stories, music and audio entertainment on the go.
Interactive animal toys are also expected to be popular. The Little Live Pets My Magical Dragon Skye, priced at £55, features more than 60 reactions, responding to play and interaction with sounds and movements.
Meanwhile, the Primal Hatch Megalodon Hatching Egg Shark Toy turns unboxing into part of the experience, with a water-activated hatching process that reveals a prehistoric shark.
Music fans are also catered for with the VTech Kidi 12-In-1 Guitar Superstar, which uses light-up frets to help guide young players through songs.
A new Projector Karaoke Machine, launching in September and priced at £90, is also expected to bring the concert experience into the home with smart app connectivity and built-in lighting effects.
LEGO, Pokémon And Creative Playsets Encourage Imagination
Hands-on play remains a major part of this year’s toy trends, with building sets, crafts and imaginative worlds featuring heavily on the list.
Pokémon fans can look forward to the LEGO Pokémon SMART Play: Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle, priced at £30, while dinosaur lovers can get creative with the Armosaurs Armor-Up Dinosaur T-Rex – Ajax.
For children who enjoy arts and crafts, the Giftie Badge Maker allows users to create personalised badges using custom designs and photos.
There is also plenty of traditional imaginative play on offer. The Jupiter Workshops Four Storey Wooden Doll House, an Argos exclusive, features multiple rooms alongside lights and sounds.
The Flutter Monster 40cm Soft Toy takes a slightly different approach, combining a cuddly character with activities designed to encourage children to express and talk about their feelings.
Toy Story 5, KPop Demon Hunters And Paw Patrol Arrive Under The Christmas Tree
As expected, some of the biggest screen franchises are set to have a major presence on Christmas wishlists.
Disney and Pixar fans can pick up the Argos-exclusive Toy Story 5 Bullseye Jumbo Plush, a large and cuddly version of Woody’s loyal horse.
The hugely popular KPop Demon Hunters also makes the list, with singing dolls of Rumi, Mira and Zoey available for £35 each. Fans can find Rumi, Mira and Zoey, with each doll performing the hit song “Golden” from the film.
For younger children, the PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie Megasaurus Dino Vehicle brings prehistoric rescue missions into the living room, featuring a dinosaur that automatically inflates at the press of a button.
Peppa Pig Ready Pedal Peppa also makes the Top Toys list, featuring more than 75 sounds and phrases as children help Peppa learn to ride her bike.
And for those looking for something a little sillier, the Minions & Monsters Fart Blaster Pro rounds out the list with a prank-focused toy designed to bring plenty of laughs.
