JD, the UK’s leading sports, fashion, and lifestyle retailer, is set to drop one of the most anticipated sneaker releases of the season: the Air Jordan 6 Infrared “Salesman”.
Celebrating 35 years of the iconic Air Jordan 6, this release cements the model’s legendary status in sneaker culture.
The campaign features Kidwild, one of the UK’s fastest-rising rap talents. Hailing from East London, Kidwild has gained a loyal following thanks to viral success on TikTok, his breakout Distro Kid EP, and the hit single “Redemption” featuring Nemzzz. Representing a new generation of streetwear and youth culture enthusiasts, Kidwild embodies the spirit that the Air Jordan 6 has inspired for decades.
A Sneaker with History
Originally known as the “Salesman Sample”, the Air Jordan 6 references a 2000 Eastbay catalogue that showcased the sample version of the “Infrared” AJ6 with reverse midsole colourblocking. As Michael Jordan’s first championship sneaker, the AJ6 is steeped in basketball history, paying homage to the GOAT’s iconic run with the Chicago Bulls.
The Air Jordan 6 “Reverse Infrared Salesman” puts a modern twist on the OG Black Infrared, featuring a premium black nubuck upper accented with bold Infrared details. Nike Air branding on the heel and Jumpman logos on the lace lock, shroud, and sockliner complete the look. Other highlights include a rubberised tongue, padded collar, rear spoiler inspired by MJ’s German sports car, and visible Air cushioning in both the heel and forefoot, finished with icy rubber outsole sections for comfort and traction.
JD is giving sneakerheads first access to this coveted drop, reinforcing its commitment to the culture. The Air Jordan 6 Infrared “Salesman” launches online at JD on Saturday 14th February, priced at £190. Fans should follow @jdsports on Instagram to stay up-to-date with release alerts.
