Absolut has always believed that art has the power to unite people beyond differences and this rich history of championing innovative and diverse artists highlights its dedication to fostering creativity and providing a platform for artistic expression. This commitment has continued through iconic collaborations, featuring legendary artists such as Keith Haring and Julia Wachtel, and more recently with contemporary talents including Olly Alexander.
It all began however in 1985, when Absolut Vodka commissioned the legendary Andy Warhol to create a unique artwork based on their iconic apothecary-style bottle. The result was a vibrant, kaleidoscopic masterpiece that quickly became a celebrated fusion of art and drinks culture. However, this bold and colourful creation wasn’t the only piece Warhol crafted for the brand.
Nearly four decades later, another Warhol creation, the Absolut ‘blue,’ was rediscovered and has been honored this year with a special edition Absolut Warhol bottle. Now, the story continues with an exciting new chapter.
From October 4-6, just ahead of Frieze week in London, Saatchi Gallery will host a free exhibition showcasing five emerging artists who were invited to reinterpret Warhol’s original artwork. Sharing a canvas with the pop art legend, these rising talents have been given the opportunity to express themselves creatively, embodying Absolut’s ongoing commitment to championing new voices and promoting inclusivity. The brand has long been known for elevating unheard perspectives, and this exhibition serves as a powerful creative platform for the next generation of artists.
The exhibition will feature the work of five standout talents who are poised to make waves in the art world. London-based Kelly Anna focuses on bold, dynamic figures that celebrate female athleticism and empowerment. Nigerian artist Ken Nwadiogbu blends hyperrealism with conceptual artistry, challenging the boundaries of perception. Jade Pearl bridges the worlds of fashion and art, drawing inspiration from holistic wellbeing. Alexa Sirbu leads the way in digital 3D design, exploring new forms of visual storytelling. And Xu Yang, using classical imagery, creates queer self-portraits that speak to modern identity
Housed within a pop-up space reminiscent of Warhol’s iconic Silver Cloud Factory, the exhibition continues his legacy of embracing diversity, identity, and the power of art to unite and inspire. It’s a celebration of creativity and inclusivity – and definitely something worth raising a glass to.
