Absolut Vodka has unveiled its latest Artist Edition bottle, this time in collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation. The release honours the legacy of the pioneering pop artist and his enduring impact on visual culture, activism, and creativity. Designed as a striking bottle, a tribute, and a collector’s piece alike, the bottle channels Haring’s vision of art as a universal language – accessible to all.
The limited-edition bottle revives and reimagines Haring’s original Absolut artwork from 1986, wrapped in the artist’s signature dancing figures, along with bursts of red, yellow and blue. There are clear nods to the vibrancy of Haring’s early subway works, and his belief in complete unfiltered expression. Embossed linework runs around the sleeve in rhythmic motion for a tactile effect, with Haring’s own signature and a hand-sketched medallion featuring Absolut’s founder, L.O. Smith adding the finishing touches to one of the most impressive Absolut bottles yet.
Haring first joined Absolut’s art initiative on the recommendation of his friend and fellow icon Andy Warhol, who had reimagined the bottle the year prior. In keeping with Absolut’s belief that creativity should be democratic, Haring brought his unmistakable influence to the canvas, drawing up a silhouetted bottle surrounded by figures in motion. The original 1986 campaign cemented Haring’s place in the Absolut Art Collection and reflected his commitment to taking art out of galleries and into the hands of the public – an ethos that lives on nearly four decades later with this new edition.
A key figure in 1980s New York, Keith Haring emerged from the street art scene with a language of bold lines, repeated icons, and spontaneous energy. Inspired by graffiti, hip hop, and the social issues of his time, his work often appeared in subways, community centres, and activist campaigns. Despite his short life, Haring created an expansive body of work that addressed everything from AIDS awareness to anti-apartheid resistance, with his foundation continuing to expand access to his art and values across the globe.
To honour Haring’s legacy through flavour as well as form, Absolut has introduced the Absolut Haring Fizz, drawing on the artist’s travels and global perspective.
Capturing Haring’s time spent in both New York and Asia, the cocktail combines crisp apple and orange with toasted sesame and ginger, serving up a unique layered flavour profile. Its golden hue directly references the palette of the original 1986 artwork, and much like the bottle itself, the serve is designed as a sensory nod to Haring’s world of vibrance, contrast, and inventive balance.
The Absolut Haring Artist Edition joins the wider Absolut Art Collection, a landmark cultural initiative that began with Warhol in 1985 and has since included over 550 artists and 850 commissioned works. The collection, housed at Stockholm’s Spritmuseum, represents a cross-section of contemporary art from several decades. Each piece centres the Absolut bottle as both subject and symbol, and portrays a fitting reflection of how branding, art, and culture can intersect meaningfully throughout history.
The bottle launched in global travel retail on1st July, while wider release across 40 markets including the UK, Germany, and Australia is set for October 2025. A dedicated pop-up vending machine at Gatwick Airport will offer limited Absolut Haring merchandise alongside bottle purchases, while travellers passing through Heathrow can also claim a gift voucher that can be used towards their bottle via Uber through an Add-to-Wallet campaign. Keep an eye out for 3D billboards too, set to light up key transit locations including Sydney and London throughout the summer.
