The Montague on the Gardens has welcomed the return of its award-winning Beach Bar pop-up. Tucked behind Russell Square, this immersive summer experience has yet again transformed the hotel’s outdoor space into a fully realised beach setting – complete with real sand, palm trees, and signature cocktails to indulge in on this vacation from the comfort of London.
The tropical hideaway is set within the Red Carnation Hotel’s elegant Bloomsbury property, and features a beach-hut style thatched roof, lush planting, and a full beach backdrop for visual immersion. The theming is meticulous – from palm trees and surfboards to a customised Jet Ski photo area, and a digital print photobooth to capture every moment.
In true summer spirit, the menu includes a curated BBQ selection with meat, fish and vegetarian options, alongside desserts such as classic ice cream cones. Drinks include cocktails served in coconuts on arrival, alongside a full selection of wines, spirits, beers, and optional upgrades such as a Prosecco tap or unlimited drinks packages for summer parties. There’s also garden games included to enjoy, including as adult-sized Jenga, Connect 4 and limbo.
The Beach Bar is available exclusively to hotel residents or for private hire, with capacity for up to 200 guests. In the event of rain, the experience continues seamlessly with a roofed structure and access to the adjacent Conservatory.
This unique London pop-up perfectly captures the playful summertime atmosphere, which is elevated by the standard of food and service one would expect from the Red Carnation collection. It’s the ideal setting for a seasonal bite, a refreshing cocktail, or a lively evening – all in a space that feels worlds away from its central London postcode.
The Beach Bar is open until 26th September at The Montague on the Gardens, 15 Montague Street, WC1B 5BJ. Find out more and explore the upcoming events and popups across the Red Carnation Group right here.
