The Devil’s Drawers | Pantalones Tequila

First up is The Devil’s Drawers, a blackberry-forward cocktail from Pantalones Tequila.

Founded in 2023 by Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves, Pantalones Tequila produces tequila made from 100% organic Blue Weber agave. The brand’s Halloween serve combines its Organic Reposado Tequila with fresh lime, Cointreau, homemade blackberry syrup and ginger beer.

The result is a dark, fruity cocktail finished with fresh blackberries for a suitably devilish garnish.

Blackberry Syrup

Ingredients:

  • ½ pint blackberries
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar

Method:

Rinse the blackberries and place them in a bowl. Toss with the sugar and leave to sit for around 30 minutes.

Muddle the berries before straining the mixture to create the syrup.

Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 44ml Pantalones Organic Reposado Tequila
  • 14ml fresh lime juice
  • 14ml Cointreau
  • 30ml blackberry syrup
  • Ginger beer, to top

Method:

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice before adding the tequila, lime juice, Cointreau and blackberry syrup.

Shake well, then strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.

Top with ginger beer and finish with fresh blackberries for a dramatic Halloween garnish.

Pantalones Tequila Blanco is currently available from Waitrose, while Pantalones Tequila Reposado is available through The Whisky Exchange.

Bloody Margarita | Sierra Tequila

If you’re looking for something a little brighter, Sierra Tequila’s Bloody Margarita puts a Halloween spin on one of the world’s best-known cocktails.

The recipe combines Sierra Blanco or Reposado Tequila with Cointreau, fresh lime juice and blood orange juice, creating a vibrant red-orange drink that’s particularly suited to a spooky-season drinks table.

Ingredients

  • 50ml Sierra Blanco or Reposado Tequila
  • 20ml Cointreau
  • 20ml fresh lime juice
  • 100ml blood orange juice
  • Orange slice, to garnish

Method

Add the tequila, Cointreau, fresh lime juice and blood orange juice to a glass or cocktail shaker and combine.

Serve over ice and garnish with a slice of orange.

Sierra Tequila Blanco is available from selected UK supermarkets, with prices starting from £17.50 for 50cl. Sierra Tequila Reposado is also available from selected retailers.

The Devil’s Share | Cotswolds Distillery

For whisky fans, The Devil’s Share from Cotswolds Distillery takes a more theatrical approach to Halloween cocktails.

The serve combines Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky with lemon juice, Cotswolds Amaro, honey syrup and red wine.

The finishing touch is what gives the cocktail its spooky appearance: red wine is drizzled over the drink and ice to create a ‘bleeding’ effect in the glass.

Ingredients

  • 45ml Cotswolds Single Malt Whisky
  • 25ml lemon juice
  • 15ml Cotswolds Amaro
  • 15ml honey syrup
  • 7.5ml red wine

Method

Add the whisky, lemon juice, Cotswolds Amaro and honey syrup to an ice-filled cocktail shaker.

Shake well before straining into an ice-filled rocks glass.

Finally, drizzle the red wine over the cocktail and ice to create the bleeding effect.

Cotswolds Signature Single Malt Whisky is 46% ABV, with an RRP from £46 for 70cl. It is available from Cotswolds Distillery and selected retailers including Waitrose, Tesco and Amazon.
