WHO DARES WINS STAR JAY MORTON CONSULTS IN HORROR GAME OF HIDE AND SEEK THIS HALLOWEEN

A woman is pictured looking terrified hiding in a bathtub from a masked cult. The picture is taken in a Halloween immersive experience. The immersive experience by Kraken Rum is designed to be a terrifying makeover of childhood favourite Hide and Seek. The experience, Screamfest VI: Here We Come, is scheduled for 27th-29th of October 2022 at The Ditch in Shoreditch Townhall in Central London. Hiders will be hunted by a group of malevolent masked seekers in the 18+ reimagining of the childhood game so intense and physical that attendees must sign a waiver to play. Jay Morton, who played life and death games of hide and seek for a living as an SAS operative before becoming a household name on the TV show SAS: Who Dare Wins has helped The Kraken Rum with its terrifying immersive game of hide and seek that’s coming to London this Halloween – and it’s not for the faint hearted.

Designed in consultation with Jay Morton, the age-old, innocent game of hide and seek is being transformed into a disturbing, twisted and truly terrifying 18+ immersive horror experience designed to give people nightmares. In fact, it may just be the most horrifying game of hide and seek the world has ever seen. Welcome to Screamfest VI: Here We Come.

Hiders will need to cram inside claustrophobic lockers, contort into antique trunks, slide under dirty beds and do their best to remain silent while they lie in a pool of unidentified gore inside the dilapidated bathtub they’re taking refuge in. All the while a grotesque group of masked seekers will relentlessly hunt them down.

Given the requirement to conceal oneself in oppressive physical spaces, the prospect of being caught and dragged into the shadows by a masked cult, and the sheer terror of it all, this unique game of hide and seek is strictly 18+ and players will need to sign a waiver to play. The foolhardy folks that do will then be ushered into a dank and disorientating underground labyrinth, otherwise known as The Ditch in Shoreditch, to begin their hide and seek nightmare.

Just like the classic game of hide and seek, players will have a brief period of time to find a hiding place and conceal themselves before the seekers arrive… And that’s where the similarities end. From there on in it’s pure unadulterated horror as players are pursued by a group of foes so expert at seeking that constantly moving from hiding place to hiding place is the only way to have any chance of remaining unfound. Hiders will need to evade the malevolent seekers for a full 20 minutes. Anyone that is caught will be dragged to a cage and locked away until the game is over.

Jay Morton has shared his top five tips to help horror fans through what’s set to be a truly twisted experience:

  • When moving through a room, you have to be able to read it quickly. Identify any doors, treat open doors as a threat and deal accordingly. Quickly identify if there are any black spots in the room where someone could be hiding or waiting to ambush. Stick to walls, don’t get drawn into the room as this can cause confusion.
  • Use what’s already there. Blend into what’s already room. Everything should look natural and not out of place.
  • Get into the mind of the person looking for you. Where would you look if you walked into this room? Where would be the most obvious place to hide? What is your attention drawn to? You can use this information to calculate your hiding spot.
  • Stay flexible. Don’t always feel like you have to stay in one location. If the chance arises and you spot somewhere better, then move.
  • The fifth and last rule. Have fun! There are no severe consequences when caught, so smile, laugh and enjoy your time in Kraken’s Screamfest VI: Here We Come.

The Kraken Rum’s Screamfest VI: Here We Come experience will take place across three nights at The Ditch, Shoreditch Town Hall in the lead up to Halloween on the 27-29th of October from 7pm to 11pm.

If this fright filled entry condition sounds like a dream Halloween evening, then tickets, priced at £10 (including a welcome drink and a cocktail token), can be booked here: www.universe.com/screamfest6
