Thrilling fans throughout the UK, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to his socials in a bright pink suit to officially welcome the arrival of Teremana Tequila to the UK.
The premium tequila, founded in 2020 by the Hollywood actor known for his roles in the Fast & Furious franchise, Mummy Returns, and many more adrenaline-pumping box office hits, will be available later this month for fans that want to savour the taste of the small-batch, handcrafted tequila making waves in the States.
With its bright and citrusy flavour profile, Teremana Blanco is the first in line to debut in the UK, available through selected bars, restaurants, and supermarkets. Its tasting notes include a hint of lemongrass, with a finish that is smooth and fresh.
Teramana Reposado will soon follow, a tequila that is aged for a minimum of 2 months in American oak barrels formerly containing bourbon, complete with rich roasted agave, oak, and tropical fruit notes. Teramana Anejo is planned for later in the summer, aged for at least 12 months in former bourbon oak barrels, with its rich, warm, slightly sweet, and complex finish.
All three variants can be enjoyed neat or on the rocks, with Dwayne Johnson himself recommending Blanco as the ideal variant of his signature drink “The People’s Margarita” (50ml Teremana Blanco, 25ml lime juice, 15ml agave nectar and 30ml pineapple juice).
Dwayne Johnson played an active part in selecting the final composition of the tequila, tasting 113 distillations before creating the brand itself and its name, meaning ‘spirit of the earth’.

In partnership with the Lopez family, third-generation agave growers, Teremana is crafted at its own distillery, Destilería Teremana de Agave, in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico. Situated 7,000 feet above sea level, the region’s mild year-round climate and volcanic soil provide ideal conditions for producing world-class tequila. The process begins with 100% fully mature Blue Weber Agave plants. After skilled jimadores harvest the agave, the hearts, or “piñas,” are slow-roasted at low temperatures in small traditional brick ovens for three days and then distilled in handmade 100% copper pot stills, resulting in a smooth finish.

Teremana’s range of premium tequilas will start to become available in the UK from June onwards at selected retailers nationwide including Tesco, with prices starting from £40. Añejo and Reposado will complete the range later in the year.
