The whisky, not one for the faint-hearted, maximises the essence of Bear Country in each sip by capturing the notes of the Canadian wilderness in its flavours. It serves up a complex palate of creamy vanilla and sweet honey, fruity elements of cranberry and pear, and a unique spice combination that completes each sip with a smoky finish.
It uses ‘Elemental Ageing’, a unique process where carefully chosen oak casks are matured in repurposed shipping containers, and exposed to the elements of the Canadian wilderness. The interaction between the wood and whisky is intensified by the extreme swings of climate and temperature of the North. This results in a bold, smooth flavour profile for the beverage.
The single-grain Canadian whisky is matured in former bourbon American oak barrels (adding sweetness), then ‘Elementally Aged’ in French oak red wine casks (for fruitiness) and air-dried virgin Hungarian oak (delivering the smoke). Select casks are blended to create a bold yet smooth flavour in a balanced beverage that boasts long, complex flavours with a distinctive spice finish.
