VOXI by Vodafone donates £80,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust on behalf of its customers

VOXI by Vodafone is partnering with Teenage Cancer Trust to help support their unique care for young people with cancer so that they can truly live their lives to the fullest.

The partnership will see VOXI make an £80,000 donation to the charity on behalf of its customers.  This will be made up of a series of individual £3 donations which VOXI is making on their behalf. Customers will also be given the chance to choose which areas of the charity they would like the donation to support – including:

·         Places: Designed together with young people, the Teenage Cancer Trust units are spaces where young people facing cancer can feel at home, meeting others their age, and welcome friends, and family, whilst getting the very best care.

·         People: Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses are specially trained in how cancer affects teenagers and young adults, delivering world-class medical care. Working alongside the nursing team, Youth Support Coordinators provide crucial non-medial support, focused on each young person as an individual, and not on their diagnosis.

·         Peer Support: Teenage Cancer Trust run events for young people with cancer, bringing young people together to share experiences, develop life skills, build connections, and have fun.

To get involved, VOXI customers simply need to log into My Account, tap the VOXI Drop button, claim their £3 donation code and choose the key area they would like to support on Teenage Cancer Trust’s website. VOXI will then donate £3*.

Teenage Cancer Trust exists to provide care and support for young people aged 13-24 with cancer in the UK. Operating 28 specialist Teenage Cancer Trust units in NHS hospitals across the country, their network consists of specially trained nurses and Youth Support Coordinators, who provide world-class medical care, as well as non-medical care to support young people with the impact of cancer on all aspects of their lives.

Paul McKenzie, Director of Engagement, Teenage Cancer Trust said: “We’re so proud and thankful to VOXI for choosing to support Teenage Cancer Trust and our vital work with young people with cancer.

“Cancer kills more teenagers and young adults in the UK than any other disease. And for those who survive, going through it without the right support can be devastating – physically and emotionally.

“The money donated by VOXI will help fund specialist nurses, youth support teams, events that bring young people with cancer together, and hospital units within the NHS that provide the very best care and support during treatment and beyond, to make sure that cancer doesn’t stop young people living their lives.”

Scott Currie, Head of VOXI, said: “I’m delighted to partner with Teenage Cancer Trust for this month’s VOXI Drop. By giving our customers the choice to donate to three crucial areas, together we can help support the incredible work the charity does to enrich the lives of young people with cancer.”

VOXI is the mobile network for young people, offering contract-free plans that let you use selected social and video apps, endlessly, without eating into your general data allowance. VOXI Drop launched in January 2019 and more than three quarters of a million rewards have been claimed to date. The loyalty programme gives customers exclusive freebies every month from well-known brands.
