Trainline will be opening the doors to its first ever clothing store this month, dedicated to helping job seekers stride into an interview with confidence.
The opening of The Interview Store comes as research reveals that over a third (38%) of Brits – and nearly half of Gen Z (45%) – can’t justify spending money on new work clothes due to the rising cost-of-living. Yet, two in five (41%) feel more confident and prepared for an interview when dressed in a new outfit.
The store will open in London Waterloo Station, the UK’s busiest train station, which sees over 41 million passengers travel each year from across the country. On Tuesday 28th, Wednesday 1st and Thursday 2nd March, the pop-up clothing store will provide job seekers with the chance to get their hands on a new feel-good interview outfit, completely free of charge.
From a corporate position to an artistic role, the store will provide appropriate attire for all interviews – with Trainline covering the cost. Celebrating pre-loved clothing, all of the outfit options will be sourced from second hand suppliers, offering a sustainable new look for a (hopefully!) successful interview.
With interview skills being another daunting element of the process, The Interview Store won’t stop at just providing feel-good garments. On Tuesday 28th and Wednesday 29th from 10am – 2pm, career expert Alice Stapleton will be on-hand to help customers to build their confidence ahead of their interview.
Costs outside of the everyday essentials feels like a daunting prospect for many, particularly with the cost-of-living being a prevalent concern for most Brits. At Trainline customers can save an average of a third off travel with a digital Railcard, such as the 16-25 Railcard or 26-30 Railcard.
With money-saving in mind, The Interview Store has been launched to make interviewing a cheaper and less stressful experience. Alongside providing free clothing and advice, Trainline will also be offering a limited discount code providing £10 off for those travelling via train to their next interview. The discount code will officially be shared with customers on the store opening day.
The Interview Store will be welcoming limited walk-ins across the three opening days. Although, for those who want to lock in their spot ahead of an upcoming interview, bookings can be made at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/the-interview-store-tickets-550822353487
Trainline aims to make booking and travelling by train as seamless as possible so that it’s easier for customers to make greener travel choices. Keeping sustainability at the forefront of this project, any surplus clothing will be provided to local charity shops nearby to the Waterloo store.
