TIMBERLAND CELEBRATES THE YEAR OF TIGER

Tiger is seen as a symbol of strength and courage, both in natural and spiritual spheres. As part of The Year of Tiger, Timberland is bringing a new look to the festival that breaks away from conventional colors, imbuing the entire assortment with its natural camouflage inspired by the endangered Tiger. As part of this collaboration, the brand teamed up with Redress Design Award winner Ngoc Ha Thu Le to create eco-friendly and outdoor-ready pieces that will only be sold during this unique time frame.

Timberland worked with 2020 Redress Design Award winner, Ngoc Ha Thu Le, to create a limited edition 3-in-1 waterproof jacket with Tiger camouflage motifs designed to raise awareness of the wildness life. Ngoc Ha Thu Le took inspiration from Timberland’s utilitarian aesthetic for this partnership, anchoring her zero-waste, upcycling, and reconstructive design focus throughout her entire design process. The jacket is re-engineered with a fully sealed seams recycled polyester shell, providing extra weather-ready protection with a pack-away backpack at the back. She also designed an orange hued insulated liner with open armpit to maximize overall mobility, mirroring the power and agility characteristic of those Tigers we have long admired.

Timberland has been an official partner of the Redress Design Award since 2020 and is committed to nurturing the next generation of designers. Redress Design Award is the world’s largest platform for sustainable fashion design.

The winner will participate in a mentorship program every year. Additionally, the winner will work with a design team led by Timberland’s global suitability crew to create exciting capsule collections grounded in sustainable design.
