THE MODEMS BRING BIOHACKING BEAUTY AND LONGEVITY TO LONDON TECH TALK

The future of women’s health took centre stage in London this week as The Modems, the UK’s leading female-focused tech news platform, hosted its second Tech Talk event at the iconic Hotel Café Royal. Held on Wednesday 14 January 2026, the sold-out evening explored how technology, science and culture are reshaping beauty, wellbeing and longevity through the rapidly growing lens of biohacking.

Part of The Modems’ expanding live events series, Tech Talk: Biohacking Beauty brought together founders, medics, journalists and cultural tastemakers to unpack how modern women are using data, innovation and mindset shifts to optimise long-term health.

Longevity, Mindset and the Science of Beauty

The evening opened with a keynote from longevity expert Dr Alka Patel, a leading lifestyle medicine doctor specialising in preventative health, metabolic optimisation and hormone balance. Her presentation examined how emerging technologies, personalised health data and proactive lifestyle choices are transforming women’s approach to ageing and vitality.

Dr Patel was followed by an in-depth conversation with Roxie Nafousi, the world-renowned self-development coach and three-time Sunday Times bestselling author. Nafousi spoke candidly about mindset as a core pillar of longevity, highlighting the growing intersection between mental wellbeing, physical health and performance-driven beauty.

Closing the programme was a panel discussion featuring Eva Alexandridis, co-founder of 111SKIN and 111 Harley St Clinic, alongside biohacking advocate, wellness educator and podcast host Coral Golding. Together, the panellists explored how supplements, wearable health tech, skin longevity and data-led self-care are redefining what beauty means in 2026.

An Immersive Wellness Experience at Hotel Café Royal

Set within the beautifully renovated Queensberry Room, the event welcomed over 100 attendees from The Modems’ community, including founders, beauty insiders and media figures. Guests were greeted with bespoke functional drinks curated exclusively for the evening, alongside a dedicated 111SKIN Eye Mask bar.

Hotel Café Royal crafted a signature Sipello Paloma Highball cocktail, as well as an Orange Ember mocktail infused with Glowwa’s new Collagen Creamer. Dessert service featured custom mushroom lattes by Mother Made, the functional mushroom brand founded by model and entrepreneur Jessica Clarke, offering a calm and restorative end to the evening. Seasonal canapés and desserts were served throughout, reinforcing the event’s focus on luxury-meets-wellness.

Luxury Goodie Bags Designed for Longevity

Guests departed with curated luxury goodie bags designed to empower their biohacking journeys beyond the event. Products included:

  • 111SKIN – Celestial Black Diamond Eye Masks

  • Moods Aromatherapy – Aromatic mood oils
