Fans of the galaxy far, far away are in for a major cinematic event this May, as The Mandalorian and Grogu arrives at Vue Printworks with an exclusive expanded IMAX presentation unavailable anywhere else in the UK.
From 22 May, the Manchester cinema will become the country’s sole venue showcasing the film in IMAX’s towering 1.43:1 aspect ratio — offering audiences significantly more on-screen image than standard cinema formats.
The special presentation has been created specifically for The IMAX Experience and was captured using IMAX-certified digital cameras, allowing viewers to experience over 53 minutes of expanded footage designed to fully utilise the massive Printworks screen.
One-Off 6AM Screening for Hardcore Star Wars Fans
To celebrate launch day, Vue Printworks will also host a special one-off 6AM screening on Friday 22 May, giving dedicated fans the chance to be among the first in the UK to see Din Djarin and Grogu back on the big screen.
The early morning event is expected to attract devoted followers of the Star Wars universe, particularly fans of Din Djarin and Grogu, whose journey became a global phenomenon following the success of the Disney+ series.

Unlike traditional widescreen screenings, the 1.43:1 IMAX aspect ratio fills more of the towering screen vertically, revealing extra visual detail and delivering a more immersive cinematic experience.
